The Car Santa was in Collinsville Ill. on Sat July 11th at the American Legion post 365 on 1022 Vandalia St in Collinsville at 10:00 in the morning to present a vehicle to a Iraq Veteran Sheamese, that has been struggling to get her life back in order. She stayed in a shelter for a while but has since found a place to live and a job but needed a vehicle. The vehicle was donated by the OKAW Valley Classic Car Club to show their support of our brave men and women that have served our country so well. The recipient was surprised with a set of keys to a Chevy Cavalier. The recipient was submitted to us by the Missouri Veterans Commission.
A special thanks to the Car Club and the American Legion post 365 in Collinsville. The American Legion supplied the Color Guard and helped us hand the keys over to a very deserving Veteran. We brought Sheamese to the American legion thinking she was there to apply for a car and had no idea that she would be leaving with one. She was very emotional and thankful that all these people cared about our Veterans enough to help them with a gift like this. She spend a hour hugging and thanking everyone. We could't have selected a better recipient to help with a vehicle.
Cars 4 Heroes is planning on giving another vehicle away with the OKAW Valley Classic Car Club to another Veteran very soon and can't thank then enough for their help. They had their cars on display at the event and they are all very impressive to see these vehicles in prefect condition.
