He was with the initial wave in 2001 with a unit that was deployed in the beginning of the war. In fact, his unit was cut off and they ran out of food  and had to survive for a month off of local animals and water, to stay alive. He was then sent over to Okinawa and returned home becoming progressively more ill. He did not want any help from the service or VA and tried to manage his finances on his own. He and his wife, April, have five young children under the age of 10. He is very ill, with multiple tumors and has a hard time swallowing and can't drive. He has to travel to the Kansas City VA with his wife or grandmother from Chillicothe.  He has to come here to see the specialists he needs. He has a tumor in his throat making it hard for him to swallow or eat, as well as other very serious symptoms and conditions . They are in desperate need of financial assistance. His social security and VA disability pay have been filed for but take time to come in. He has tried to manage all this time, progressively feeling worse and worse, and not wanting to ask for any help. He is now open to help, as his family is suffering from the financial losses. Tim works for his landlord doing odd jobs and his wife works but its not enough to purchase a vehicle.
Tim was told Live on KFKF today that he and his wife would be honored at the Josh Turner Concert on Monday June 15th and he can pick up his vehicle while he was there.
