The Midwest steps up to help others and does it in a very special way. Cars 4 Heroes is a Missouri Not for Profit based in Kansas City that provides free basic transportation to people in need, giving 7 vehicles to people in Joplin in July to help people get their fives restarted and the Car Santa promised he would be back and in a big way. If you don't have a way to get to a job, the doctor, the store or a new place to live it can be very difficult to restart your life. A Car can change all that.
On Fri Oct 7th - Car Santa will be loading 3 Semi transport trucks loaded with vehicles at the NAPA Warehouse. Over $100,000.00 worth of used vehicles that we are taking to help the people of Joplin. Veterans in need will be a top priority but anyone thats needs help after the tornado is eligible. We have been calling people for the last 2 weeks to tell them they would receive a free car.
This is truly a community project with many businesses involved. Cars have been brought to Kansas City from Omaha, Wichita, St Louis, Tulsa, and donated by people in the Kansas City area. Radio stations in all these cities helped us raise the donated vehicles.
The KCmetroselectgroup.com are 20 area Napa autocare centers and Car Star Auto body, have repaired the vehicles, NAPA auto parts supply the parts, Farmers Insurance, Molle Toyota, Speedway CDJ in Lansing donated cars, Jack Cooper Transportation is taking all the cars to Joplin for us. Harrahs has helped with other repair costs. Many more. All Company Rep's will be onhand all morning
Sat Oct 8th - we will be in Joplin giving the cars away with all media starting at 11:00 Am At the NAPA auto parts store ,731 W 7th st. Joplin Mo. Michael Waltrip ( Michael Waltrip race team) will be with us passing out keys and signing autographs. There will be people we will surprise with a vehicle that dont know they are getting one.
Oct 9th -Sunday-Race Weekend at the Kansas Speedway.
Cars 4 Heroes will be in the front parking lot of the Speedway between 10:00 AM and 12:00 AM, at the stage of the Speed Channel. Live on there pre-race show, Michael Waltrip, Car Santa will be with a Veteran and family from Joplin in need of a vehicle. Driver of the NAPA race car #56 Martin Truex Jr will drive up and surprise them with a vehicle donated by Molle Toyota. The NAPA Race Car #56 will have the Cars 4 Heroes Logo on the car for the race.
