Desert Storm Vet needs to get to the VA hospital

My name is Michael . I am 45 years old, a US Army Veteran I served my country from Aug, 1983-June, 1991. I am a Desert Storm Veteran I served with the 101st Air Borne Div. at Fort Campbell Ky. My Story of hardship begins back in Jan. 13,2005 in Warsaw Mo. Where I had lived. I was 40 years old and suffered 2 major heart attacks back to back in one night I was life flighted to a hospital in Kansas City, Mo after a year and a half I was awarded SSA Disability.  I moved up to Blue Springs last year with my wife to be closer to my doctors at the Kansas City VA Hospital. Times have been tough in my life with my health  and it got worse this summer when my wife told me that she wanted a divorce. We have 1 car but with the car payments I told my wife that there is no way for me to afford the car payments of 280.00 a month and insurance on my income alone so I told her she can have the car and car payments.  I cannot work due to my health the only income I have is my SSA Disability and I draw a very small check from the VA  with rent and my utilities and other bills there is no way that I can afford car payments  so right now I have no car to get to my doctor appointments at the VA or to the store to buy grocery's right now my mother picks me up and takes me where I need to go she takes me to my appointments she has to rearrange her schedule so she can get me to my appointments on time, her health is not good. she has serious health issue also. I know its hard on her to pick me up and take me to where I need to go my mother manages to get me to my appointments even when she isn't at her best health. I have 1 granddaughter Maleina White she turned 1 year old on Nov.11th ,2009,  without a car I cannot go see her. I watch my granddaughter for my daughter a couple times a week but my daughter has to bring her to me I cannot go pick her up if I want to go to the store with my granddaughter my mom has to pick the both us up my mom enjoys seeing her and helping me but I know its hard on her and I tell her if she doesn't feel like going we can make it another day, but she manages to come over and pick me and my granddaughter up and takes us where we need to go. If you have a car under your tree it would mean so much to me and to have once again the freedom to be able to go to the store and to my doctors appointments without having to depend on my mom and it will be so nice to be able to pick up my granddaughter in my own car and take her to the mall or just go get some ice cream and take her to the park. Thank you so much for your time in reading this and for your possible consideration of a car.
