Struggling Mom in Gardner Ks gets some help
Angela is a single mom of a 7 year old daughter. A few years ago she got down on her luck and her and her daughter (just a baby at the time) had to live in homeless shelters for about a year. Angela has managed to get back on her feet enough to get out of the shelters and she now lives in a small townhouse in Gardner, KS. That was the only place she could afford but she has no car and works in Overland Park (about 10 miles from where she lives). She has to depend on friends to get her to and from work. Sometimes friends schedules do not coincide with hers and she has a very difficult time getting where she needs to go and also be there for her daughter. She is a very resourceful young lady but sometimes it just gets to be too much without transportation. A car of any kind would be a godsend. I worry so much about these two especially the child. It is very difficult for a mother who does not have a vehicle to get her daughter where she needs to go without relying on other people. If Angela had a car she would feel so much more independent. She is working a full time job that sometimes requires her to work later in the evening and sometimes it is difficult for her to find a ride. My heart breaks for this girl who is a friend of my son's and we try to help her out in any way we can. But the bottom line is she is in desperate need of a vehicle. If there is any way you can help her, you would definitely change her life in an extremely positive way. She would love to be able to get a higher paying job so she can afford to go to school (she wants to be a nurse). She is a very ambitious young lady but just needs a little help so she can accomplish her goals. If you could make this dream come true for her, this would be the best Christmas ever. Thank you for your consideration
