Sandra ****** is a mother of two. She is a very independent person and doesn't like to ask anyone for help. She works two to three jobs at a time just to make ends meet. Her two year old son goes to a sitter witch takes up one of the checks. When they get a little extra money they get a cheap car. It gets her to work, sitter and food shopping. Because it is a cheap car it has a lot of repairs and still falls apart fast. Christmas is coming soon and she is trying to get something for the kids. Two years ago their apartment burnt down and everything in it. She is still trying to recoup from that. She takes good care of herself and her kids and never asks for much. I have read letters from others and their are a lot of needy people out of there. If you decide others are in more need we understand. Thank you for your time. Karen

HELLO, I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF FOUR BEAUTIFUL GIRLS. (10YRS,9YRS,TWINS 5YRS.)I RECENTLY MOVED TO MISSOURI, FROM ILLINOIS WITH HOPES TO GIVE MY CHILDREN A BETTER CHANCE IN LIFE. WHEN I MOVED HERE I WAS DRIVING A 91 CHEVY LUMINA MINI VAN. MY VAN RAN HOT ON ME AND CRACKED A HEAD GASKET. MY VAN HAS BEEN SITTING IN FRONT OF MY APT FOR 3 MONTHS, BECAUSE I WIPED OUT MY SAVINGS TO MOVE HERE. I DO WORK, BUT I ONLY MAKE $7.50 AN HOUR. I CAN'T FIND A BETTER JOB TO BETTER MY CIRCUMSTANCES , BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION ,I OFTEN FIND MYSELF PAYING FOR RIDES. (TO SCHOOL FUNCTIONS, TO THE GROCERY STORE, TO THE LAUNDROMAT, TO DR APPOINTMENTS) ITS ALL VERY STRESSFUL. I BELIEVE I DESERVE A FREE CAR4 CHRISTMAS SO MY CHILDREN AND MY SELF MAY LEAD A NORMAL AND PRODUCTIVE LIFE. (NOT TO MENTION GETTING TO KNOW WHERE THINGS ARE IN MO. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. SINCERELY JACQUELYN *********

Individuals with disabilities often become prisoners of their own homes. Raona **** is one such person. She is intelligent and motivated, yet sits at home day after day with no contact with the outside world because she is disabled and has no transportation. Medicaid transportation has very limited hours and services. The providers are always different, depending on who offered the lowest bid. Transportation is not provided on weekends, or after 7pm. The ride is often late, or does not show, causing Raona to miss her doctor appointments (angering doctors). She has suffered injury to herself and to her wheelchair by inexperienced drivers. She reports the lifts on vehicles don't work 50% of the time, leaving her unable to utilize the transportation. As you can imagine, this becomes so frustrating that she tends to become isolated and discouraged. If she could be provided a van or minivan that would transport her wheelchair, she could pick up her medications. visit her doctors twice monthly as required, and to do her own shopping. Her dream is to obtain employment, since she has a great deal of experience and knowledge to contribute to the work place. On her social security income, she will never be able to obtain a vehicle., and would truly appreciate and utilize a donated vehicle. Thank you for your consideration. Beverly
