Dear Cars 4 Christmas:

There is a group of us who would like to remain anonymous.  We would like to nominate Beverly *****  for a different car or to help her get hers fixed.  She is a single mother with two children.  Her ex-husband has never helped her with her two children.  If she tries to collect child support he just quits his job and that ends the collection.  She has a bit of medical bill after being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis about a year and a half ago.  She does have a car but it is on it's last leg. The transmission is going out in it, she needs wheel bearings, and new tires.  she drives about 40 miles one way to work.  Her car has left her stranded out on the highway more than once. As you know it is not safe for anyone to be out on the highway alone and after dark.  Yet she never complains.  This woman give all she can to anyone in need and we think it would be wonderful if she received in return.  We know that there are many needy families but we would like for you to please
consider her for a different car or help with hers.

God Bless Everyone and Have a Joyous Holiday.
If you can help  email us info@cars4christmas.org

I am writing this letter to nominate my daughter for cars for Christmas.
My daughter is a young single mother of a 3-year-old son who is currently
living in a battered women's shelter. My daughter has to walk to the daycare
and then to work and back with her child, which is approximately 1 mile each way.
The location of the women's shelter must be kept secret, therefore when she is able
to get a ride to work or to the store, she still has to walk approximately 8 blocks to
meet her ride in order to keep the location a secret. She is currently trying to get
into a transitional living program, however she needs transportation in order to be
eligible for that program.  My daughter has been trying to obtain a car on her own, but
has been unable to qualify because she has not been at her job long enough and no credit.
Due to my own financial problems, I am unable to help her myself.
My daughter has had a very difficult life for the last few years and is trying to get her life together,
not only for herself, but also for her child.  It is very hard to pull yourself up once you have hit bottom.
However, she is doing her best to do just that.  My daughter is trying to start her life over from scratch
with only a small amount of clothes for herself and her son.  She currently has no car or a home of her own.
She definitely has a long hard road ahead of her.  My daughter desperately needs a car for her and her son.
It is very difficult to walk everywhere with a 3-year-old, especially when the weather is bad.  It is also
very dangerous to walk, sometimes carrying a child, through mounds of snow and ice.
Please consider my daughter and her son while making your decision.  She would deeply appreciate your kindness
and it would dramatically improve the lives of both her and her child.
Thank you in advance considering my daughter and her son for the very generous gift of a car.
Thank you and God Bless!!

Sincerely,

Chris ****

Kandie is a mother of 4 children. She works two sometimes 3 jobs to try to make ends meet.  Recently her full time job cut her hours back to only part time.  Due to this she lost her car.  She is trying to catch rides to drop her children off at daycare and then make it from Eudora to Lenexa to work everyday.  Times are very tough for her and have been for awhile. Even with the two part time jobs she does not have the income to purchase another vehicle.  She is a very hard working individual and will not ask anyone for help.  I believe that the loss of her car and the tough times with the holidays ahead has taken a big toll on her.  I think that the help of a vehicle to get her to and from work would be a wonderful Christmas present for her.

My name is Debbie and I have a good friend who hasn't had a lot go right in her life for a long time. When I first met her, her and her 3 children were staying in a 1 room motel room and Kathy was working 2 jobs just to pay the room rent and buy food for her children.  She saved up the money and got managed to get in at the Salvation Army homeless shelter, until she could find a place that would rent to her.  She had a car, but the repairs to that car were more than she could afford, so now she has no vehicle at all.  I talked with her yesterday and she said that this was the first time in 3 years that she couldn't pay her rent, it's because she doesn't have reliable transportation to get back and forth to work, she misses a lot of hours and can't pay her bills.  She could really use a car, then she could get back and forth to work and she would have enough money to pay her bills.  She is a good person who has just had a lot of bad luck lately and she is really due for a bless
sing.  Thank you,
