To receive a vehicle would greatly help me reach my goals to go to
college. It would also be greatly appreciated by myself and my children.
I am a single mother of two little girls and a son on the way. I do
not receive any help from their father. I do, however, receive a check
from the state for $292.00 each month to help with bills. I just
recently got out of an abusive relationship and have basically started from
scratch. I completed my GED last month and would like to get an
associates degree in criminology. Thank you in advance for considering our
family for a car.

THIS IS MY STEP DAUGHTER, SHE HAS 4 CHILDREN FROM AGE 6 TO 2. THERE IS
ALWAYS DR APPOINTMENTS AND THE 6 YR OLD HAS TO WALK TO SCHOOL IN ALL
KINDS OF WEATHER. JESSICA IS LIVING ON GOVERNMENT ASSISTANT  DUE TO SHE
HAS NO WAY TO WORK. HER MOTHER AND I ARE ON DISABILTY AND WE CANT ALWAYS
TAKE HER WHERE SHE NEEDS TO GO. IF SHE JUST HAD A VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT
ONLY TAKE PRESSURE OFF US IT WOULD GIVE HER THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE MORE
SELF SUFFICIENT AND DO FOR HER CHILDREN.

THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD WORK THAT YOUR ORGANIZATION IS DOING FOR PEOPLE
DOWN ON HARD TIMES.

Julia is about the most special person i know of.
She has taken care of a 25 yr young lady that has cp and is mentally retarded.  Her house was damaged in the may tornado, she had to move, she brought her ailing brother home so she could care for
him, God only allowed him 3 months with her, he passed on in sept. SHE has a vehicle but it cant be driven out of town to the ortho doc that the young lady has to go see...so she has to borrow one from someone else...or beg them to take her. its so sad to see her always lending a helping hand whenever she sees that it needs to be done, then having to beg for someone to help her in the least bit....this Christmas she has opened up her home to several people that have no were to go...but then her home is always open to those that need a warm blanket , some coffee, or a  hug.

I would like to nominate Diana ******* she has been working and put so much money into her car, but unfortunately its quit running. She is broke and no one to lend any money and 2 children to take care of. Now she'll probably be jobless. She needs a dependable car right now as the cold temperature drops. I wish I could help her But I can't. Diana needs your help.

Hello Hi,

My name is Tanika  and I'm 24yrs. old and I have never had a car
of my own and I was never able to afford a car. My credit has also
stopped me from getting a car that I acquired from student loans. I have a 3
year old son and we have to catch rides to the doctor, store, and
everywhere. Sometimes my family doesn't want to take me to those places that
I need to go and sometime's I just don't ask. My son has been sick
several times and I had to beg people to take me to the doctor and
sometimes I had no money to catch a bus. It has been hard for me to get to work
on time and my boss brings that up all the time. I am afraid that I
might loose my job. It has been hard for me but I continue to pray and ask
god to bless me one day. I will continue to try to save for a car, but
it seems that something always comes up. I also would like to go back
to school and further my education but it is hard without a car. I will
continue to pray and hopefully my prayers will be answered.

Sincerely, Tanika Bennett

I have been caring for my older sister for quite a few years now.  She
is an amputee in a wheelchair who suffers from diabetes, thyroid
problems, renal failure and is legally blind.  The only time is able to get
out of the house is for her medical appointments because the town we are
in does not have transportation for handicapped persons. She gets to
her medical appointments through medicaid coverage but the drivers they
have are not that polite.  Plus we have to ride with them three times a
week (at least) 260 miles round trip just for one visit to her dialysis
center because there are no availabilities closer to our residence. I
am a licensed driver but cannot afford to buy a vehicle on our limited
income.  If I had a dependable mechanically car that was automatic and
could fit the wheelchair in the trunk, I could afford the upkeep and
insurance on the vehicle...I just can't afford the purchase price.  I
think being able to get her out of the house for a simple trip the th
e grocery store or just a ride to a park would do so much for her
spirits.  She suffers from depression and I think that would help with
that.  Anyone that could help us would greatly be appreciated
