My daughter Christina is a young mother who has been working hard trying to maintain for her two children ages 2 and 6 months. She has been bouncing her children to babysitters just to keep her job, while waiting for daycare. Unfortunatly because she no longer has a vehicle (for a year now) her daycare choices are limited and she's on a waiting list. The babysitters have dwindled and she is in the process of loosing her job. If she had a car which she can not afford to buy one on her own, She would have access to more daycare centers, not have to loose her job, would no longer have to take her babies on the bus to doctor appointments, babysitters or herself back and forth to work. This would be a wonderful blessing for her and change her life for her and her babies tremendously.

Middletown,
I am requesting a vehicle for my Son Garrett who is a 20 year old. I am
deployed with my husband overseas, and am not able to financially
assist my son who desperately needs it. He is trying to hold down a full-time
job, and pay rent, without a car, and it is nearly impossible to do, as
where he lives is not known for their great public transportation! He
is currently facing eviction as he has not been able to meet his rental
obligations. Because I am over sea's, I am not able to offer him a place
to stay, and do not have the money to buy him a car. It would make his
life so much easier because at least he would have transportation to
get himself a better paying paying job, and give him the opportunity to
get around.
I hope this organization can help him,
Thank-you,
Linda
Harrisville,
My friend is in dire need of a vehicle. Her husband left a year ago
leaving her with 2 handicapped children. One is wheel chairbound. Her
income level dropped drastically. Both children and herself have lots of
medical problems and seeing her have to take a bus to to go to Dr appts
is sad. She has severe back problems and trying to get her daughter of
25 onto a bus along with a wheelchair is extremely hard. Their life is
very limited. Sometimes she will ask me for a ride to Dr appts but i
can't always do it. She has to depend on people to go grocery shopping and
when her child gets sick at school she has no way to get him if there
is no one around. With a vehicle she could be soo much more independent
and i'm sure much happier. She could take her 7 year old places and her
daughter could have some kind of social life not to mention she
deserves one also. They all live a very isolated live. Lets face it, you can't
get by without a car these days especially when you have children
and sick ones at that. I know she would love to get a small part time
job but without a car it is impossible for her. She use to do foster
care. She adopted the 7 year old in 1999. She dreams of doing foster care
again but you need a car. It's a requirement. Not only would this change
their lives, she has been through a lot and has stayed strong for her
kids. She works extremely hard to do the best she can for them
financially as well as being very nurturing and sacrifices a lot for her
children.
The only thing i ever here her complain about is her back when having
to use public transportation. If she can't get a ride to where the bus
picks up theres been times where she had to push her daughter in a
wheelchair to the bus pick up and if her son is not in school has to take
him also which is the hardest thing because her son suffers from adhd/odd
and is very impulsive and she cannot let go of his hand.
So owning a vehicle would definitely make life easier for the entire
family.
