I am actually requesting this car on my own behalf and for
the safety
of children. I have 3 year old twin daughters and my husband works very
hard but we can't afford a car and i can't afford to work and pay for
childcare so i am a stay at home mom. Last year my brother was injured
in a car accident on his way to work and he suffered severe brain
injuries as well as the loss of his left leg. At the time i owned a 97
dodge neon, i was terrified to put my children back in that small car so i
sold it and bought an 87 volvo (yes a 20 year old car) because it
seemed safer and i couldn't afford an SUV or a bigger safer vehicle. Well
a
few months ago my 20 year old car broke, my husband got laid off from
his job and i have had no car. we live in a residential area and i go
weeks without leaving the house because i don't have a car and as a
carpenter my husband has a pick up truck that the children can't ride in.
We get by but it is really hard not having a car and we can't aff
ord to buy one every time we start to save for one we need to use the
money for something else (food, bills ect.). A friend of mine told me i
should look on the web to see if i could find a cheap car but i found
this web site and although i know there are many people out there who
need a vehicle i think i need one just as much when the kids get sick i
can't just take them to the doctor, i have to call family and friends
and try to find a ride, then i have to put car seats in and out of other
peoples cars, also if there were ever an emergency i couldn't get in a
car and go to the hospital. I can't just take the kids and go visit
someone so we spend all our time in the house and with 3 year old twins
that can be rough sometimes. i know that everyone struggles at some
time in their life and that it won't always be this way and some day i
intend to donate a car to someone else in need but today, i am need.
Sincerely,
Diana

I am a single mother of four wonderful children. One who
suffers from
M.R, M.S, and who is legally blind. He is sixteen years old, and is
wheel chair bound. However over the past year our lives changed
drastically. It became difficult to transport my son in relatives vehicles,it's
been hard to visit places because of our situation.
I am an academic student in college, trying to provide a better life
for my four children and I. It would be a honor if their's a person who
have a van that is wheel chair assessable, for the convience of
transporting my child.
Thank you for taking the time to read my note!

About 1 year ago my father kicked me out of my house and
Dawn
took me in as my mother and guardian. About 1 month ago i was taking her
daughter to the doctors and we got into a car accident and completely
crushed the car. Since the accident she hasn't had a car and she needs one
to go to work and the doctors for her children. I think
Dawn
would be a good choose for a car.

I am a single parent of two special needs children my
oldest son being
9 who is adhd and pdst and my youngest son 8 that is autistic. Our
family endured a tragedy the day before Easter that will are still
struggling to overcome the effects of. Our house had burnt down and we lost all
the possessions we had. Over the next few months we had downfalls to
where the stable job I had was lost and we were forced to live with
friends to manage. It didnt seem like there was a break of hope in the future
for us. That break did finally come when I found a better job and moved
to coraopolis pa and we have started the slow climb to rebuild our
lives. Since getting my new job and new house we have had to depend on
friends for transportation with many months of bills and expenses to catch
up on and only being on my second pay a car new used or otherwise seems
like a far and distant illusion of the future. Being able to have a car
would help us as a family be more independent and not rely on
others when I need to go to work ,my children need to go to the doctor
or something as simple as picking them up from school it would be
something that would make our Christmas seem one of miracles
Thank you for hearing my story

members or neighbor and do not always have the money for their gas. I
am
trying to help my family the best I can but no matter who I call or

for some one to feel bad for me I am a honest person, I am just trying
to help my family so we can grossary shop and take out the kids
occasionally it is hard to ask some one to take you every where you

gift to have our own car it would help make our lives so much easier on
a daily basis. Right now I have so much stress just trying to schedule
doctors appointments, finding someone to ride us(ect) having our own car
would allieriate a alot of stress and make this a truly blessed h

As a single mother of two children that works over an hour
away from
home just to take car of my children. I lost my job in May 2006
unfortunately I could not find anything close to home. I currently work for
Aetna Health Insurance. I love my job because I get t6o help people all day
whether it is getting their medication approved or just adding a
newborn child to their policy. It feels great to help others everyday. I am
working slowly toward obtaining my degree as a Clinical pharmacist. My
dream is to stay with Aetna and eventually work with the poor and
elderly with their specialty drug program located in Florida. Over the pass
two years I have went from being homeless to having my own house witch I
rent and a job I love. I always try to help others in need if it is
just to a ride to the store or just teaching Sunday school at my church
which I also enjoy. With a car I would be able to get to work and school
as well as help out more at church and trips.

Tonya has two daughters, her 4 yr. old is in remission right now from Leukemia and her other daughter who is 3 yrs. old was diagnosed with mild hydrocephoulas, but is doing better now. She always has to borrow her parents car to take her daughters to their Dr. Appts. and to go anywhere else with them. It would be nice if she did'nt have to depend on them since they need their car also,She has been thru alot with her daughters the past three and half years. It would make it alot easier on her if she did'nt have to depend on her parents to get her and her daughters to where she needs to go all the time, especially to her daughters Dr. Appts. Thank You!

I am a 65 year old woman with COPD (severe asthma) and am
on Social
Security. I only used my car for less than 1,000 miles last year. It's a
1986 Dodge Diplomat and is so rusted out that it's dangerous on the
road. It cannot be repaired. I need a vehicle for groceries and doctor
visits. I don't have the money for a vehicle, and my family doesn't
live/work close enough for them to be able to help me out. If I didn't
have
so many prescriptions and other expenses I might be able to pay a small
payment but my credit also is poor.
Allentown
She is a 26 year old single mother who works very hard and
long hours
to take care of her child. She lives out here in Allentown and has no
family only her and her daughter. Just last year march 2005 her mother
passed away at the age of 42 and she worked to support her, her mother
and her daughter while her mother was on hospice. Just recently she was
in accident and lost her only source of transportation. So now she has
to take 2 different busses to get her daughter to the baby sitters house
and then come to work. I know having a vehicle would definitely change
her life being as though next year will be her daughters first year of
school and she can hopefully drive her to and from there.

I met Michele when I was 13 years old and she was 11, I am
now 30 and
she is 28 years of age. Within these 17 years she has endured a
struggle that I never would have thought she would over come by the time she
turned 12 years old she had gotten raped by an older cousin, from then
on she was taken from her mother at 16 moved from place to place had a
child at the tender age of 19 who was then brutally beaten and murdered
at 16 months while Michele was going to school trying to better her
life for the both of them. Michele fell into somewhat of a deep
depression not knowing that she was pregnant with her now 6 year old son with
whom she was homeless for almost 2years of his younger life. Now Michele
is working and has to leave her home sometimes at 6am to get to work by
830am and its very hard for her to leave her child with someone so that
he could get to school. If she had a car that would ease her worries
100% as far as the well being of her son and she can take him to
school and pick him up.

Hello,
I know it is not exactly right but i would like
to nomminate
myself for a car. I am 24 years old and with one child and I am married. My
husband and I are and have been struggling for the past few years. I
just actually have been able to barely afford a house which i share with
my brother. Moving from the city will be a great opportunity for my
family and I.The city i come from itsn't a place anyone would want to be
even just to visit. I am moving out of a house of where I lived with my
aunt and her 5 five children. I am now employed but it is only a temp
position, I travel right now by bus and subway train but when i move
things get futher away from me and the route for me to get to work and to
do my normal things would just make it a little bit harder. Especially
because i work in Delaware and my son will be going to school in
phoenixville so something better has to come for me because i wouldn't be
able to get there fast enough god forbid if anything was to happen.
I've even looked into places that sell donated cars but i just don't
have enough money. I'm not asking for anything luxurious i am just in
need of something that will get me from point A to point B and thats it.
If anyone has a car that they would like to get rid of even if it is a
fee i would be able to pay something it might not be alot but that
would really help me out. Thanks again

She has 4 children she recently left an abusive relationship the two oldest children receive ssi and attend counseling services the oldest is adhd & odd hes13 the next boy is mr ,pdd ,adhd mildly autistic. She now lives in public housing in Fairchance, pa a vehicle for this family would be a blessing. she is a good mother and is trying to make a better life for her children. a car would help take her children to doctor apt and to the store and activities for the children. Sherri's mother passed away June 2005 She helped take care of her mother until she passed away. and also did volunteer work with the Masontown, salvation army so this why I feel she would be a good candidate for this program. thank you

Marietta
My name is Mary, and I have recently been diagnosed with
Bipolar/Manic
Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I am enrolled in a Dual
Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Program, but it is 20 miles from my home.
In June 2005 my ex-fiancee' bought me a car and convinced me he would
take care of the monthly payment and insurance. I found out about a
month ago that the loan was 5 months behind so I went to our local
Assistance Office for help in purchasing another vehicle because my car was
going to be repossessed. The welfare office helped me get a really good
reliable vehicle through a buy-here pay-here dealer; however the dealer
failed to inform me that I had to carry full coverage insurance. I had
to drive 3 1/2 hours to get custody of my 12 yr old son Kody who I have
been fighting for the last 3 yrs, and on our return home I hit a deer
and totaled the car! I only carried liability insurance so I am
responsible for this vehicle. I have no money to either repair or pay
for the car. My only income right now is cash assistance from
welfare; however I have applied for Social Security, but even with both of
those the funds will not be available. My son was unable to get any of
his belongings and I need to get him school clothes, items for school,
shoes, etc. He also wears glasses and is in desperate need of a new
pair. I have been trying to contact my caseworker at the welfare office to
see where I can go for a donated vehicle, but it's very difficult
reaching him. Kody and I would so very much appreciate any help you may be
able to offer! I am at the end of the road and have no where else to
turn. I pray that God will touch your hearts so as to help us in some
way! Thank you and God Bless!!
Philadelphia
My name is Eric #######. Back in 1992 I was in a car
accident and I
now have permanent nerve damage and herniated discs in my lumbar and
cervical spine, I am on Disability and only make $574 a month. Due to my
back/neck herniated discs and the multiple nerve damage throughout my
body, I am totally disabled and receive SSI. We get food stamps from
welfare and $205 otherwise we wouldn't survive monthly. I am married for 5
years now to my wife Michele. About three years ago she found out she
has diabetes and from there on her life has been getting worse. She has
Stenosis of the spine and Radiculopathy and now cant walk for more then
a few feet and she now uses a wheelchair. For the past couple of years
her sister has allowed us to borrow her car to get to our many doctor
appointments we both have, but the car died and now we are without one.
We don't make enough money to go out and buy one, and there is no one
else to borrow from, so now we don't know what to do. We need const
ant medical attention from doctors, hospitals, etc and can't be
without transportation. So I came online to search for a way to get a free
car and I found this website which I thought was a blessing and an answer
to our problems.

My friend has been working hard all of her life. She
is married and
has children at home, grown children, and a grandchild. Her husband works
hard, too, but they only have one vehicle and that makes it very
difficult for both of them to get to their jobs when their jobs are in
different parts of the area. They have struggled for many years while working
very hard at their jobs and raising their family. My friend has also
volunteered a lot of her time to Boy Scouts and other services. Some days
she has had to take the bus and gets stuck because the bus doesn't run
after a certain time, she's had to walk in the very cold winter to work
- which isn't close. This family could really use a second vehicle and
it would greatly benefit not just their lives, but the lives my friend
helps as well. Thank you for your consideration,

Well my friend Jeremiah has been living with me and my mom
for about
1 year and he has helped us out a lot. He just got fired from his job
and can't afford a car and i think it would be nice for him to get
something nice for once the way it would change his life is that he is trying
to start his own business and a car would help him out because that is
the only thing holding him back. I would like it if you can help him
out please he is a grate person with a really big hart.
thank you for your time

Sellersville,
My sister and her daughter only have each other so when
she decide to
move away from Philadelphia in order to give her daughter a better chance
at a good education she didn't realize that it will be so hard to get
her life back on track.
since moving to Sellersville she has continued her education but she
only sees her daughter on weekends. my mother who also lacks
transportation lives across the hall from Twonda and watches Mone m-f while
Twonda
stays down here( philly) so that she can finish her degree.
this car will not only give my sister her relationship with her
daughter back it will allow her to earn a better living, she has an excellent
customer service background and is very good with other people, i just
want some one to finally be good to her...
thank you for your time,
Norristown,
Hello, I was at work this evening looking on the internet for any type
of help in finding a vehicle and ran into your site and thought what a
blessing this would be if you were able to help me. First before I get
into my story I would like to say thank you, and let you know what you
are doing is truly a great and important deed. When people do not have
vehicles it takes away there independence and wears on there self
esteem. So i do believe that the cause you are working on should be
congratulated.
I am a 22 year old young lady who has been struggling for 2 years now.
when I was 20 my parents sat me down and told me that I had to go out
into the world and find my own way because of financial hardship. My
mother and step father have 5 children all together so I understood. I went
out and got a efficiency apartment and lived there for a year. Hardest
year of my life! (smile) I dealt with mice, and when I say mice I mean
MICE, everywhere! They would eat my food and just made living there
unbearable. In addition to that the location was horrible. But what doesn't
kill you makes you stronger! I recently moved into a apartment complex,
still not the greatest area but a long way from the other place. And
here I am now. The reason i am applying is because I recently got a new
job which for now is part time but I will begin full time some time next
year when the other building opens. I choose to stay here because of
the opportunities I could have in my future with this company. But
in the mean time I am struggling everyday to make it to work. And
because my bills out weigh my pay check it is impossible for me to get a
vehicle. In addition to that I honestly have no money to pay for my ride
to and from work any more and now i am in danger of losing my job, and
because of that i could lose my apartment too. I am sure that there are
people out there who deserve a car more then me, and i would never want
to take from them but if you come across a vehicle that could help me,
i would greatly appreciate it. I would be grateful for anything you
could do for me.
Thank you, and keep up the good work.
Pleasant Gap,
You received a letter on September 15, 2005 about a family who is in
desperate need of some help with getting a new wheelchair lift van or
getting the one they were donated fixed. I am writing to you about the
same family. This family has at least 6 medical related trips out of town
this month alone. The 2nd to the youngest, has surgery scheduled
for the 10th of this month, the youngest, Nicolas, has surgery scheduled
for the 15th in Danville as well as many other pre-op and regular
medical appointments. Even the Dad has to have surgery in Pittsburgh on the
29th. You may recall the other letter from a different friend of the
family explaining about the situation this family is in. It is now even
more important that they get some help somewhere, somehow from someone,
I am praying you may be that special person or group. You see, now the
radiator has to be replaced in the van they now have. They just don't
have the money to get it fixed and I know there has to be someone o
ut there who wants and is able to help. To be honest the radiator is
really the least of this van's problems but, just to be able to even
get anywhere it will have to be replaced somehow.
Let me give you a little insight on this family, my 2 children and
myself and my boyfriend found ourselves "homeless" about 4 or 5 weeks ago
and she invited all of us to come stay until we are back on our feet.
At first my boys were staying with my parents in Altoona and not
enrolled in school, she told me to go get them and get them enrolled in
school. This family of 6 jumped to 10 overnight. We are a little cramped
but, she always says "the more the merrier". Please do not overlook this
letter as I am asking you to help them as they have helped us. I don't
expect a new van to be in the driveway. I can only hope you could at
least find it in your heart to give them a donation or something to help
with the van situation. (he can not go anywhere without his van
with the lift for his wheelchair) I understand everyone has "dug deep" for
the Katrina victims but there is a family right here that is just as
important. They are struggling just to get by and she cries every
day worrying there might not even be a visit from Santa this year.
Please help them any way you can either to get the one they have fixed
or even get a better one. The van needs to be full sized because his
nurses go everywhere he goes and all of his equipment goes as well.
They can transfer the lift to a different one. Maybe we could make this
Holiday season just a little better for this family. I know they would be
truly grateful.
Thank you very much,
Sharon,
my mom is raising 4 children on her own,she has all her life with no

Lansdale,
My name is Catherine, and I would like to submit my church as a
possible recipient of one of your vehicles. We are a ministry that's been
in
existence for @ 7 years, and we've had our share of trials. We
recently relocated to a new town, and we're in need of a van to provide
transportation to members that don't have a car of their own. The church
van
that we had is no longer in operation, and it is very difficult to get
those with a desire to serve God to the house of God. Our new church
home is @ 20-25 minutes away from our former place of worship.
Unfortunately, this has caused some of the sheep to scatter. I truly
believe
that if we receive a van from your ministry (what you are doing is a
ministry!!), our ministry would flourish again. Those who have been
called to service under Greater Faith Ministries wouldn't have to worry
about how they would get to church. Our church has been praying for God to
bless us with transportation, and I truly believe that our prayer
s will be answered in His time. Thanks and God bless you.
Catherine
Claysburg,
My name is Lydia Dively, and I am writing to tell you about a very
deserving man, my dad Andrew. Throughout my life he has been an
inspiration to me by never giving up. My dad has always been a hard worker being
a farmer you have to be. He started working on the farm when he was a
child and worked on it until we had to sell about nine years ago. After
that although he was ill he still worked at a feed mill until he no
longer could because of back problems. Although back surgery is bad it is
not all that my dad has endured throughout his life.
In 1991 my dad had to have a kidney transplant, although as soon as he
was able he felt it necessary to get back to work to support his family
of four at the time. In 1996 he became ill again but this time he had
cancer in one of his native kidneys and so it had to be removed. About a
year after this surgery we sold our farm. He worked throughout the next
six years, although he was ill. In 2001 he had cancer for a second time
it was skin cancer. He worked until 2002 when he had to have back
surgery because of a herniated disk. In 2002 he also had to have more skin
cancer removed. In 2003 he had his gall bladder removed. Then in April
of this year he had cancer in his other biological kidney and had to
have it removed. He has had some recent bad news he is going to have to
have another kidney transplant. Dad is also prone to blood clots
throughout his body. I feel he is deserving of an automobile because my parents
have a car that has seen many better days. They make about 5-
6 trips over three hours every month to Pittsburgh so that he can go
to his doctors’; appointments. He also travels to his doctors’ in our
area that are 20 miles away in Altoona 1-3 times a week.
When I turned 16 I got very sick and I was out of school for about 4
months. I had ear infections and I had cysts in my sinuses that caused
many problems. My dad and my mom were there throughout the whole thing.
I knew that I could look up to my dad’s example of just praying, moving
forward and doing my best.
I know that my dad has a big heart because not only have my parents
been married 23 years, but he also adopted my sister who came with a dark
background of her own. We have all learned a lot from my dad. We have
learned many lessons that will carry on throughout our lives. I think
the most important lesson he has taught us is although some times are bad
keep on trying to become a better person. My older brother Abishia has
just finished school with a degree in computers’, I am currently a
student at Lock Haven University striving to attain a degree in Special
Education, and my younger sister Melinda is currently a fifth grade
student who is involved in cheerleading and also basketball. My dad still
goes to many of the events that we are involved in and I know that as long
as he is still with us he will continue to be involved in our lives.
This is an example of just how much my dad loves our family. He told
me his leg hurt this year a day before the fourth of July but he did not
want to spoil the picnics for the rest of us so he would not go to the
doctor. He waited until the last firework went off to tell my mom to
take him to the emergency room. The doctors found a blood clot in his
leg. That is the kind of man my dad is always thinking first of everyone
else although I know that he was in a lot of pain. This is why I feel my
dad is deserving of a free automobile because although he has had some
rough times he never lets it show he always puts on a strong face, so
that his family will not be afraid, although I know he is terrified
inside just like the rest of us.

Hard
times. Well, a nasty divorce, getting credit ruined by the ex. I
drive a wheel chair bus, transporting the elderly and dying. I don't
get paid much, and live 50 miles from work, and in the past have been
hurt, and on workers compensation, from numbness, sprained shoulder,
sprained back.
My employer though, makes me drive those 50 miles for treatment. After
my divorce, my father loaned my his extra car, 7 yrs old, but, now he
wants it back. He's having financial difficulties as well.
I've had new cars and total beaters over my life...I had a 79 Cadillac,
sold it a few months back for cash, should a kept it.
If I can't obtain wheels, of any kind, soon, I'll get thrown off
workers comp, and never be able to get to work....
Thanks for listening.

Claysburg,
My name is Lydia Dively, and I am writing to tell you about a very
deserving man, my dad Andrew.
