My mom is alway's trying to help someone even though she is disabled.
She will pray for them all the time and encourage them when they need
her. My mom has not had transportation in over two years and is in much
need for she can not afford to buy her own. My mother attends church and
goes to many doctor appointments and sometimes cancels because I have
to use my own car a lot and she has no way. Not having a car of her own
is really making her very sad and I would love to see her be able to
attend church, the doctor's even the store or visit those less fortunate
as she enjoys doing. I wish I was able to help but I'm a single mom. I
pray you can help, my son has written to you before I just found out
and didn't get a response. Please Bless My Mom Thank You For Reading This
And God Bless Your Organization For All You Do.

I'm a single parent, needing transportation to my work, and to take my
daughter to childcare. A vehicle would change me and my daughter's life
by having freedom.. like getting out of the house, surviving.. by
driving to the grocery store for food, and it would be a lot easier not
having to search for rides all the time. It basically would make a HUGE
difference in my life and would make it a lot less stressful for me.

Lanita is a 30-year-old outreach client at SafeHome and has been for
several years. She is survivor of domestic violence and has gotten
herself and her 4 children out of these violent relationships. Lanita
has a
newborn child as of October 28, 2006. She had her car stolen last month
in front of her apartment and has been without transportation since
then. She has had to rely on family to take her to the grocery store,
doctor's appointments and counseling appointments at SafeHome. She says
that she feels like having a car would help her be independent and
self-reliant.There is no public transportation where she lives or she
would
have used this means to get to appointments, etc. She is trying to be
positive with her life and she wants to keep raising her kids in a
non-violent environment. In order to keep doing that, she needs a
vehicle so
she can go back to school, can take her kids to school activities and
she can look for a job.
She would be very appreciative of consideration for a car from
Cars4Christmas.
Thank you!!

Aimee is a mother of 3 children and was in an abusive relationship with
their father. She left the relationship and packed up her children and
left in her van that she had just paid off in full, only to have
another bad experience. She was on her way to Nebraska to a domestic violence
shelter, when her van caught on fire driving down the highway. She has
just moved back to the KC area after being in a shelter in Nebraska.
She has a job at Pizza Hut, but no vehicle. If she had a vehicle she
could possibly get a higher paying job. She would also be able to go to the
school functions with her children, grocery store, and doctor appts,
without waiting for a bus. If she had a car some of the every day strees
would be lightened and could be the start for her road to self help and
new hope in life for her and her children.
Thank you for helping those in need, God bless you and Merry
Christmas.

Delandra is a single mother of two, one child's father was killed
before the baby was ever born.  She tried to get some type of assitance for
him but was denied.  He is three and is in school when she can find a
ride to get him there.  She also has a three month old whom would be in
daycare if she had a car.  She needs a car because she has a job that
is seasonal for now but because it is so far out that is all that she
can do.  The job has written her for the past three years to come back
and work for them.
This year when she got her income tax she kept her money until
she found a car, got it insured and tag.  Then the transmission went out
init.  She got it fixed the she had other minor problems to go wrong
with and she use up the last of her money getting it fixed.  That's when
the motor went out in the car and by then she had used up all of her
little money.  So if she were to be chosen to receive a car I know that
she would not be so depressed and down and the kids could get back and
forth to SCHOOL which is something that De'Marious LOVES to do it would
change him the most.

I desperately need a vehicle. i am a 23 yr old mother of a 3 yr old
daughter and i have been seperated for 8 months. we are going to have a
divorce and custody battle soon i suppose, it hasnt been filed yet but
thats because i cant afford it and he would rather blow his money on
himself. i was told that because of circumstance he may be able to get
custody away from me. I have had to move back into my parents house and my
mom is my only form of transpertation. my daughter has had 2 eye
surgeries since this may and has regular check ups. My mom is a busy person
as it is. she has my 10 yr old sister that is extremely involved in
school and a dance class. I work at ihop as a server to make ends meet to
help my mom out with gas and groceries but with my daughter and i being
crammed into a tiny room with out belongings was supposed to be
temporary and has exceeded what we imagined. my mom and i agree that i really
NEED a car before i move out because she wouldnt be able to get me
places at the times i need and still get my sister to school. i
started to try a first time buyers deal but my credit is very bad and the
intrest i just couldnt afford. if i could get a car then im sure i could
get my daughter and i started in a place and life of our own. please
help if you can.             sincerely,

Ms. ###### is a single mom with 5 kids ranging from 5-11. Recently, she
just lost her home and everything they had due to a fire and is having
to stay in a motel. She has to go to the hospital several times a week
due to her recently having a bone marrow transplant. Ms. ###### has
leukemia and is unable to work. She has a van that barley gets her to and
from the hospital the transmission is almost out. She is a patient of my
fiancée's mother and we have all been working really hard to help her!
She is in desperate need of a reliable vehicle to get her to and from
the hospital!! If there is anything that you could do we would really
appreciate it!!

Phyllis is a 62 year old woman who lives in St. Joseph, MO with her
daughter and 9 grandchildren. Currently, Phyllis is only able to get out
of the home for medical appointments as it is too costly to purchase
taxi fares and bus tickets to get her entire family out of the house for
anything else. In the past, Phyllis has tried to rely upon others to
transport her; however, other individuals are not always dependable.
Phyllis' daughter has a car, but is too busy with her life to assist Phyllis
except in emergency situations. The family has a membership to the
YMCA, but are unable to utilize it because they cannot get transportatation
to the facility. The family would greatly benefit from a vehicle of
their own because their life would be so much easier since they wouldn't
have to schedule their activities and appointments around a bus schedule
or other individual's schedules who have access to transportation and
are willing to transport them. They family would also have more o
pportunities to enjoy community events attractions. Phyllis would
really like to take her grandchildren out in the community for fun, family
activities and be able to drive them herself so that they could stay as
long as they desire and not have to hurry to get back to the bus stop
by the stated time. Phyllis does not have the income required to
purchase a vehicle on her own. She barely receives enough to pay her household
expenses. Her income includes a small amount of child support she
occassionally receives from the children's parents and her retirement
benefit.

Rozann has three children and I see her and her children walking in the
heat and the cold weather rozann has a son with special needs and I all
was see her walking to and from the bus stop takeing him back fourth to
the hospital Rozann is also trying to find her a job. Talking to Rozann
she explained to me that a car would help her with doctor app. go to
pick here son up from school when he get's sick or has a seizure at school
recently Rozann son had to be put in the hospital he had gotten sick at
school and she had no way to go and get him so she had to wait for them
to send him home on the school bus and then catch the metro to the
hospital with him and they keep him for a infection due to the bacflon pump
that he had in placed in  his stomach and then they removed the pump the
time the child was in the hospital Rozann caught the metro back and
forth to the hospital with her other children and her other too children
has asthma and doctor appointments also and I think that

Rozann  needs your help so that I don't have to see her and her
kids walk to and from the bus stop at night or in this hot weather with
those kids or when her child is in the hospital and she is on the bus
late at night with her other children coming home this young mother of 3
rides the bus to the grocery store with her children. I think that a
car for Rozann it would help her with      here with her children doctor
appointments and all of the medical needs that her children have and it
would make me feel better knowing that this young mom is not out on the
bus with those children at night having to that mile home that why I
think that a car could change their life not just hers but her children
life as well I would feel better knowing that I did a good deed for Rozann
and her children knowing that they don't have to walk that mile
home.Thank You.  GodBless

I am in need of a vehicle.  I have been raising my two girls by myself
with a little help from my parents, who are on a fixed income and
unable to assist me with any money. I receive no child support from their
father, only state assistance. I am in the process of trying to change my
life and my girls life.  I will be finishing my first college course on
Tuesday, July 18, 2006 and I am enrolled in the fall semester as a full
time student.  I forgot how much I enjoyed school. A vehicle would also
help me get to and from classes, along with all the other privileges of
having a vehicle.  I could give hundreds of examples of how it would
change my life and the lives of my children.  I wouldn't have to bother
family or friends for a ride to school or the grocery store. Sometimes
others are busy or just don't feel like taking someone where they need
to go.  Life is full of changes.  This would be one of the best changes
in my life.  Thank You for all the families you have helped an
d continue to help.  We all are blessed with your assistance.

This year has been the hardest year of my entire life. At the start of
the year we found that my had emphysema an was pretty sick. I would
stay with her on and off while I was searching for a job, because I had no
place to live. My son stayed with her because I never knew where I
would be from night to night. In early March, I returned to my mothers
home, she could no longer do everything on her own. I think for most of my
life my mother dealt with mental health issues. But I never expected to
be without her. March 29th, of this year my mother hung herself and my
son was taken into State custody. The sum of my entire world was gone.
My Mothers last request was to give my son a better life than was given
to me. And since then, Ive been on a mission to do just that. This
December I will finally be moving into our first home and she's not here to
see it. My Son will be returning home soon after. I have almost
acheived every goal I set for myself. Almost!
I spend all of my free time on the bus or getting a ride from my dad,
to find work. Its been months but i havent given up.
I Know that there are people out there who really need a car. And my
hopes and prayers go out to them. I hope you can bless them this
Holiday season. And thanks for even running this contest and reading these
letters. Happy holidays and god bless you!

I have a daughter with Cystic Fibrosis, a life threatening genetic
illness with an average life expectancy of ONLY 35 years. My daughter is
7, and is doing fantastic-Thank God! We have tremendous friend and
family support and finances to adequately care for our child with a
devastating chronic illness. I write this story requesting a "car" for another
CF patient who is not nearly as fortunate as us. Her name is Ashley.
She is now 19 years old and was diagnosed with CF at birth. She is in
dire need of a liver transplant, and will eventually require a
bilateral lung transplant as well. She does not have adequate family support
and is doing all she possibly can to make it on her own. She is working
two jobs to try and make ends meet, which certainly adversely affects
her health. Because she is working, she lost her SSI benefits, which
complicates her finances even more. She has to be very careful not to
make "too much" so that she doesn't lose her Medicaid as well. Wit
hout Medicaid coverage, a liver transplant will never be an option
because Ashley has no other means of paying for such an expensive
operation. A couple of weeks ago, Ashley found herself in an apartment without
heat and her car on the side of the highway, irreparable. Ashley
still owes a substantial amount of money on this vehicle and can't possibly
afford another car payment. This car is her only means of getting to
and from work, and to and from her numerous doctors appointments.
Ashley is a great young woman, trying to do the right and responsible thing.
However, she simply can not "make it" on her own. My fear is that
Ashley will continue to be "beat" by the system and will just simply
"give up!" There are many deserving people, but Ashley's story has really
touched my heart, and I want to do all that I can to help her through
this extremely challenging phase of her life. Thank you for your time
and consideration.

Higginsville,

Hello, I am a 34 year old single mother of 3 children. I am currently
unemployed due to the fact that my oldest daughter got sick, and because
I had to stay home with her, I lost my job. I used to have a car, but I
got behind on the payments and lost it. Since then, my children and I
have had to walk where we need to go. The weather is getting colder, and
I do not want my children to have to walk in the cold. The town I live
in has no employment available, and even if I could get a job
elsewhere, I have no way to get there. I was selected for a job in Blue Springs,
but my friend was not and therefore I have no way to get there. If I
were able to get a car from you, it would enable me to get a job to take
care of my children, and pay the rent and bills. It would also be a way
I could get my son back and forth to his doctor appointments at
Children's Mercy. If you would consider us, my children and I would greatly
appreciate it. Thank you for your time, as I have no computer at
home, if I am selected, please call me at the home number above. I do
have voice mail, if I am not home. One of the main reasons I need a car
is if I could get a job, then I would not have to go on public
assistance. Again, thank you for your time.

Gayle is a generous, passionate and caring woman, 49 years of
age, unemployed with a chronic illness of Asthma that has her out of air
if she walks to far, and a spinal cord injury that has her in pain when
ever the weather is cold, damp or rainy.  Gayle has owned used vehicles
in the past which always broke down making it impossible for her to
maintain decent employment which has been located far from where she
lives.  When Gayle did have a vehicle she never refused anyone needing a
ride and this included me.  Gayle does not want to be on disability or
social security, but wants to work and she always tells me if she just had
a dependable car she could get and keep a job.  Gayle has five
grandchildren, in which she relocated from Los Angeles just to be in their
lives leaving a warmer climate and unselfishly gave to her son a used 1987
Dodge pick up truck that was to big for her to handle, lifting the hood
to put in oil was a major problem due to her spinal condition an
d she is only 5 feet tall, but her son paints and she wanted him to be
able to work and take care of his family.  She could have sold it or
try to trade it in but she said one day a blessing may come to her for
giving the car to her son in need. I hope this letter can bring that
blessing to her.  She deserves it and she has been a great friend always
thinking about others and not herself. Gayle works hard at anything she
does.  She feeds homeless people even though she receives a small amount
in food stamps and donates clothes to homeless as well a shelters and
churches. She is happy when others are happy.  I would like to see Gayle
happy for once because of something giving to her instead of her
giving.  Sincerely Micheal.  PS  Gayle is also a Veteran.

Overland Park

Our daughter and boyfriend lived on a sailboat in Key West, FL. During
hurricane Rita the sailboat got swept away with all their
possessions. They both worked on tour boats in Key West and after hurricane Wilma
their jobs came to a halt. Frustrated and broke they took off for
Overland Park, KS to stay in our house. Hoping to find jobs and save some
money so they can return to Key West they are in need of a car.

St Joseph,

I'm a single mom with two children trying to become self sufficient.
It's hard coordinating rides is very difficult getting to appointments,
grocery shopping, getting to jobs or school or going to any"fun"
activities.

I've earned my G.E.D., but without a car I can't finish college. The
bus system doesn't provide reliable transportation in getting one child
to school, the other to daycare and still get to class on appointed
times. With a car I'll be able to get much more accomplished and relieve
stress for my family.

My goal is to be able to raise my boys on my own without aid from
everyone else.

Independence,

My sister is 39 and has a teenage son, she has never had a car. She had
to stop working due to health problems- she has Fibromyalgia and IBS.
She is also type 2 Diabetic. The pain from these problems prevent her
from being able to walk to and wait for the bus. She has a hard time
finding people to give her rides to Dr. appointments, grocery shopping or
to get prescriptions so she goes without the things she needs alot. She
is currently waiting on disability but even when she gets it she will
never be able to afford a car on her own. She is a very giving person
who does whatever she can to help others. Please consider her for one of
your cars for christmas. It would make her life so much easier not
having to rely on others for rides.

Raytown,

Dear Cars 4 Christmas,
Thank you first of all for giving me the opportunity to apply for a
vehicle, but most of all even if I may not be one of the recipients I
thank you for being there for others in need.
I just turned 55 and take care of my elderly mother who is 81 and who
has medical issues and problems.  I lost my job due to the reason that
my rheumatoid arthritis and caring for my mother seemed to physically
impair me by being so much and lack of rest, then I also lost my truck
because I could not afford it due to loss of employment. My mother had a
older vehicle that is beyond repairs and unsafe to drive that I had
used to get her to her doctor appointments, pick up medicines, groceries,
and so on.  Recently since the older vehicle is not available I have
been dependent on asking others for rides and trying to find
transportation which has not always worked out.  My rheumatoid arthritis has been
in complete remission for approximately 8 months and I no longer have a
need for the expensive medicines that I at one time had to purchase.
In addition I was able again to try to get into the job market by
sending resumes and contacting individuals.  I have now found employment
that is waiting for me as soon as I have transportation.  It seems as
though I can now look to the future again and as they say can see the
light at the end of the tunnel.  I feel as though I will be able to pull
through this and help continue taking care of my mother and her needs
and in addition make her and my life better by starting he new job.  I
am though in need of transportation.  I have in the last few months been
working on clearing out my mothers basement, after so many years it
seems there has been quite a accumulation, and I contribute that to her
not having much as a child and saving so much.  I have had to pay
individuals with trucks to haul off items she wishes to rid of, and this has
been an expense also.  If you do find that we are suitable for a vehicle
even a truck would work and I could continue clearing her items for
her.  I am not picky and just want to be able to take care of my mother as
she has always given so much to others in need when she was abl
e and that includes her children.  I see that I will be able to get
Marilyn

Warrensburg,

My husband and I are 20 years old and we have 2 children, Kalie Ann is
2 and Vincent is 1 and we are Due on christmas with our third. God has
blessed us with beautiful kids, but being so young and having no credit
no one will help us. Also with no car we have to live in town and since
we live in a college town rent is so high for us so a car payment would
be hard. Right now i am at home with my kids and if my water breaks i
am in trouble. It would be nice also to go on vacations with my family
and take the kids to the park or swimming. Joseph and I havent been on a
date since high school and it would be nice to drop the kids off at a
sitter and go out. If there is someone out there that needs it more then
give it to them, i know how much it would mean to me to get a car for
christmas, so i could imagine how excited someone else more in need than
me would feel to recive one.

I am looking for a link or someone to help our family get a car. We did
have a 96 dodge caravan and on the 10th of nov of this year it went up
in flame. They say it was a engine fire. The insurance paid off the
loan and we can't get another loan through are bank. Even though the van
was not suppost to be paid off till nov 07. Since we went bankrupty two
years ago its hard to ge t any kind of help. So if you could help us.
We are a family of 6 and two babies under 2. I don't have a babysitter
to get a second job after I work the first one. Thank you for your time.

Merriam,

I am writing for my friend Ricki. She is currently living with me in my
studio apartment.  She has been struggling to get her life back
together after an abusive relationship.  Just as some things were beginning to
swing her way, her car, a ‘96 Honda Accord that was her baby, was
stolen from our apartment parking lot.
She suffers from scleroderma and depression and her medication costs
have left her with very little to live on, even with her part time job.
In the last few months additional dental problems have caused even more
problems for her with missing work from the pain and the dental bills.
Leaving nothing to save for a car.
Her greatest desire is to finish her college degree, but with out a
car, she has no way to get to classes.
We have been sharing my car, but I have to go out of town regularly for
my job, and this leaves her without any means of transportation to get
to work, her doctor, or to get her medication.
She is the most loving and kind person I have ever known and I just
want to see her be able to get herself back

Gladstone,

We would like to nominate our daughter, Megan , for a car for
Christmas. In the last year, Megan has grown and matured in attitude and
spirit. She is desperately trying to make things better for herself
and her children. She is the mother of 3 children, ages 6, 3, and 2.
Megan's 6 year old suffers from cerebral palsy. He uses a wheelchair,
walker and crutches. He has had at least 1 surgery per year since he was
born. The past several surgeries have been to try to assist him in
walking. He has also been hospitalized for pneumonia due to his asthma
several times over the last few years. Megan recently started attending
school at DeVry studying Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship.

Megan did have an old truck that she was borrowing from us.
Unfortunately, one day she was driving home from a school fieldtrip with her son
and parts started to fall off of the truck. Since then Megan has had
to borrow a car to get her children to doctors appts, to go to the store
for groceries and to get herself to school.

Megan has applied for jobs within walking distance of her apartment
with no luck. If she had a car it is her desire to try to get a job at
Citibank where they provide daycare for the children of employees. We
would very much like to see our daughter succeed. She is trying so hard
and a car would give her the extra boost that she needs.

Thank you for your consideration.

Roeland Park,

Hi, my name is Amy.  My fiancé, Michael and I have a need
for a car.  Back at the beginning of October the clutch in Michael's
car went out.  after having the car towed and checked the estimate to fix
it is double what the car is worth.  At the time I was driving a 1986
Saab with many miles on it...240,000!  I love this car and it has been
servicing me and my children very well.  So I let Michael drive my car
while the very generous women i work with carted to and from work every
day.  about one week after the passat died so did the saab.  Michael
called me at work and we were both in tears as we are in a tight
situation financially and buying a car was not even fathomable with our budget.
We checked the battery on the saab and then the alternator both of
which checked out but the wires from the alternator to the battery needed
changing.  we fixed that and still now the saab will not run.  we have
no idea what else to do and no more money to spare fixing it up.

Together Michael and i have 3 children with one due in march.  we both
work very hard and have been doing what is necessary to get to work and
to get the children where they need to go.  Michael right now rides his
bike about 2 hours daily to get between his clients.  He has been such
a wonderful man trying everything he knows to fix the saab i love so
much.  riding his bike so much makes me nervous as i worry about him at
night and in the cold weather.  there are days when it rains so much he
has to cancel appointments which further put a strain on our finances.

we have tried to rearrange our budget to afford car payment but we
have been laughed at and lied to at every corner and auto dealership in
the city.  we are working very hard to straighten out our finances and
our credit but with all the car trouble it is hard to stay on track.

I know there are lots of people who may need help with similar
situations, but this is that last thing i can think of to try.  Anything you
can do would be very helpful and if this is God's will for our family so
be it, and if not another deserving family will be blessed.  With
every closed door there is another opening.

thank you for considering my request.  Happy holidays,
Amy

Overland Park,

I think Sarah @@@@@@ would be a great candidate for this program. She
is an A/B college student at Mid America Nazarene University who is a
single mom of a six month old baby. She is going to school and supporting
herself and the baby on her own. Not only did her car have over 200,000
miles on it and exhaust problems, she recently was involved in an
accident which has left her car unsafe to drive. She should graduate next
spring and will be able to support herself and baby Zion but needs
transportation to finish her last year of school. She does not live in an
area that lends itself to being without transportation. She cannot walk to
school, stores or doctors and it is unsafe for her to be responsible
for the baby with no means to services and facilities. Sarah not only
attends college but is very active in her church. Until the birth of the
baby she was leader of the senior high school youth group and has been
actively involved at the church for 15 years. She will receive a
degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology.
Sarah is definitely a most deserving candidate, one who would be truly
grateful and appreciative. I can see Sarah giving back to programs such
as this one when she graduates and gets her life on a secure financial
track. I hope you will consider this recommendation.

My mother Beth @@@@@@@ absolutely needs a vehicle.  I am her son
Brian  and I am an Iraqi Freedom war veteran. I was sent home a year
and a half ago to her with no help at all from the government for my
severe leg injury I sustained in Iraq. She had to quit her job and put
her whole life on hold to take care of me and nurse me back to health.
My kidneys failed and I was on dialysis for 5 days until they put me
off of it then I was stuck on a hospital bed on my back for 3 months,
then not even being in near the shape to come home from Germany, they
sent me on a commercial flight home and dropped me and my paralyzed leg
off on her to bathe me, feed me, and basically do everything for me like
as a nurse should have done in an Impatient hospital like Walter Reid.
She barely had any money; the only money she had was settlement money
from a wreck. She had a vehicle to take me to the places I needed to go,
but after the money ran out, she had to sell it just to keep food on
the table.
She is in Dire need of a vehicle to not only help get me to the
Doctor and appointments, but also to help her get a job and start getting
her life back together to start worrying about her since I am healing
pretty well.  Please help her, because she is the greatest mother in the
world for helping me.
  Thank you for your time,
   Sincerely,
  Brian

Bonner Springs,

I am writing in regard to my mother, she is my hero, she has been
through a whole lot with both myself and my brother, my mom needs a vehicle
to get us back and forth to children's mercy hospital for my heart
appointments, and doctors appointments.. she has always managed to get us
there, but by asking everyone ,and most of the time ,everyone is to busy.my
mom is the best, she has went through 2 open heart surgeries with
myself, and 2 years ago we had a car wreck and we lost our car, i was
hospilized at childrens mercy, with my brother, and my mom was at ku hospital, it
hurt her really really bad, cause she was a long way from us.
She would greatly appreciate a car, so alot of our worries would be
gone, just getting us to the doctors office, without worry, would make her
Christmas 100% better. she would be the happiest, person around, i would get
to see her smile again. please help us ,so that we don't have to depend
on everyone else. Thank you...Josh

Kansas City  KS,

Richard and Judy are in desperate need of a vehicle. Theirs was
totaled out while parked in front of their home. The couple have medical
issues and need to visit hospitals frequently. Richard was stationed in
Germany during the Vietnam War and needs to visit the VA hospital
frequently. He can not walk to a bus stop because he can not walk or stand for
long or short periods of time. He just recently had triple bypass
surgery. Richard is a diabetic and has high blood pressure. He and his wife
take insulin and need a car to get that as well. He can not afford to
buy a car himself because he is on disability. Judy has to visit the
doctor as well because she is a diabetic also. They need a car for doctor
visits, grocery store trips, and to run errands to get the necessities.
I first heard of the Cars 4 Christmas on the radio one morning and
thought of Rick and Judy. They have put themselves second and others
first. Our family wants to do all they can to help them out in their time of
need, but none of us have the money for a car for them. When i heard of
this charity, i was excited and hoped they could get the new car they
so desperately need.
Richard and Judy are loving, caring, understanding people. They never
took anything from anyone, yet out of an act of carelessness someone
took their car. There is no way they can keep up their health without
going to the doctor, and there is no way to go to the doctor without a
car. I think if anyone deserves to get the car they need, it should be
Richard and Judy. They are always right around the corner or a phone call
away if anyone needs anything. Now its time for them to get something
back. I feel as though this is the least i can do for everything they've
done for me.
When my wife was in the hospital, Judy was right there with me the
whole time. She woke up early in the morning just to go up to the hospital
to sit with me and be there for her sister and i if we needed her. I
know that these wonderful people will continue to do good things for
others and i want to finally repay them. Now that they are the ones in
need, i feel its my duty to do all that i can to help them get through this
hard time. I assure you, you will find no one better and more deserving
than Richard and Judy to give a car to, because they really and truly
deserve it and so much more for all they have done for everyone who
needed it.

Blue Springs,

This Family needs a car in the worst way, they BOTH have severe health
problems ,and after Travis' last hospitalization they lost their jobs
and apartment and not long after that their car was reposed so now  they
are  living in a motel room with their bright beautiful daughters ages
12 and 13 ,Julie is working for the motel cleaning rooms ,just to pay
for the room they live in ,plus just a little extra. They need a car so
Travis can get a job, he has had no luck finding anything within walking
distance , I am Travis' aunt ,and I have been trying to drive them as
much as I can, but I am on call at my job 24/7 so it makes it tough to
help . If they could get a car for Christmas it would be the first step
back to getting on their feet again, also their daughters could
participate in some of the school activities they have had to give up! PLEASE
HELP!! IF at all possible Thank You so very much J.H.

Independence,

This family has just moved up here form Joplin to be closer to the
doctor of the baby who is 3 years old and has been diagnosed with
developmental delays and I am unsure of what other diagnosis is included in
this but the baby has been going to many appointments. With dennis (dad)
having to get back and forth to work in a vehicle that is not sure of
arrival needless to say a car would benefit this family immensely. They
have 2 children plus mom and dad and how can anyone be able to trust
going places with the children as the weather gets colder without the fear
of breaking down. The family is trying so hard to be able to do all the
things that is needed in having a special needs child and I hope this
letter may touch your heart to help them . I think it is wonderful your
able to do this each year and help so many people in their times of
need. Thank you

Shawnee,

My uncle Melvin,is in great need of a car. He was recently evicted from
his apartment and was living on the streets. My mom was gracious enough
to let him stay with her in her little one bedroom apartment
temporarily. He doesn't have a car and works 10 miles from where he is living
with my mom.
He wants desperately to keep his job, but it's getting to be a real
strain on my mom to take him back and forth to work. She goes to work in
the morning and leaves on her lunch break to take him to work. (It takes
her entire lunch break to take him there and get back to her own job.)
Then he gets off work at 9:00 at night, so she is having to go pick him
up. She is not always feeling well and has some health issues. My mom
doesn't drive in the snow and ice, and with winter here, we don't know
how he is going to get back and forth to work. If he had a car, it would
aleviate alot of the stress on my mom. And would make both of their
lives easier. Could you please help so that my uncle can get back on his
feet?

Grandview,

little sister is living with her,but she doesn't have a car or a
license.I love my mother so much and I never get to do anything special for

KCMO,

Paul moved to Kansas City from Maine earlier this year in the hopes of
going to work for one of the school districts in the area, but so far
has not been hired at any of them.  For now, he has been working at a
nearby Kmart, but they've been cutting his hours, and he has taken a
second part-time job with Sylvan Learning Systems in Gladstone.  The
trouble is, he doesn't have a car, and to get to either of his jobs must
either walk or ride a bike.  It's heading into the winter months now, and
he could really use a car to get around with.  I hate to think of him
walking or riding a bike in the cold or snow.  He's really good with
kids, especially those needing special ed help, and I'm sure it's just a
matter of time till he can obtain another teaching

Dear Santa,
I am writing to you this year to help a reindeer I know who is in
desperate need. Her hooves are tired and worn out and so is her Christmas
spirit. I am hoping to fill her stockings with more then just visions of
sugar plums. My reindeer friend has a broken down sleigh that she
cannot continue to pull, and all of the other reindeer are laughing and
calling her names. All she truly wants for Christmas is her two front teeth
and a sleigh that will get her from point A to point B and back to
point A.

There is one particular reindeer that did more than call her names, he
pointed and knocked her around. This 22 point buck, with his stone
hooves has turned a vivaciously driven young doe into someone  I can barely
recognize. Through his reindeer games she has lost her home, her self-
esteem, her job of thirteen years and her dreams, he even knocked out
her two front teeth. My friend left this animal five years ago, but it
has been a foggy Christmas Eve for her ever since. This is why I come to
you for help, so that she may obtain the help that she needs to guide
her own sleigh.

She has tried many things to fix this and that, but through the small
woods the trees are thin. She has a thirteen year old buck and two doe's
eleven and six, who unfortunately have been caught up in all of the bad
reindeer games. I believe that she is a very strong and able doe, but
this broken sleigh is weighing her down. She has tried to fix it, one by
one, but there are four by four problems. I know in my heart and soul
that a good sleigh and teeth would get her back on her hooves again. My
doe friend is thirty-two years old and has left the bad buck, but is
unable to obtain the things she needs, to be able to better her family
because of this broken sleigh. She would like to have a job and go to
school to become an R.N. with her Bachelor's as an Nurse Anesthesiologist.
A career in which she would be outstanding. She lives in a small forest
where the jobs are few and far between, and those that are there do not
pay well enough to support one doe alone let alone a herd.

Santa, I believe that if she had reliable transportation she would be
able to find work, go to her buck and doe's school functions, attend
counseling, look for a new stable and be on the right path towards
bettering her herd. I truly believe in my doe friend and I feel that a new
sleigh would be the light in my Ru"doe"lph's nose.

If your still reading this and I have not lost your interest as of yet,
from the bottom of my heart I hope that this will touch someone and
that they will feel that my friend is definatly someone who could benefit
from the help and generosity of all those that participate in what I
feel to be the North star come to Earth and so as to not "Dasher and
Prancer" her hopes I am keeping this Christmas miracle a secret yet to
hopefully be revealed.   Thank you for your time and consideration.

Forever grateful,
Heidi

KC,MO

Good Morning, My name is @@@@@@ @@@@@@, and I would like to take
this opportunity to appeal to your charitable organization for the
consideration to be a recipient of a car. I am asking out of dire need and
shear desperation, as I am a divorced mother of three darling and
delightful daughters. My children and I presently reside in a homeless
transitional living complex in midtown Kansas City Missouri. During a very
violent and traumatizing marriage, I endured alot of pain, hurt and
hardship at the hands of a truly malicious man; I tried to leave, and
almost lost my life. However, God seen fit to extol those angels to encamp
all about me and my children, and my life was spared. Although I have
lost my home, car and job, I am truly grate-
ful to be given the opportunity to get my life back together again. I
had to get on welfare and food stamps for a while, but, I have now been
employed again for 8 months, and I am enrolled in Home Owner-
ship, Budgeting, Debt-Reduction and Life Skills training, and I will
begin pursuing my degree in January of 2006; however, without a car it
has been extremely difficult getting to and from work, going grocery
shopping, doing laundry and getting my baby girl to and from daycare. I am
very active in my children's schools, we each volunteer a portion of
our time with the elderly and are avid readers, but it is even a chore to
try to get to the library. I am very much in need of a vehicle, and I
would be ever so grateful for any assistance that you and your
organization can give me. I know that there are so many people who are in
need, just as I and my children are; but, please give considerable thought
to my plight, as I have overcome so very much, and I have yet to
fulfill the destiny that our Heavenly Father has for me. Thank you in
advance for your organization and for your time, thoughtfulness, attention
and consideration towards people like me. May God continue to bles
 s you all.

Olathe.

Having a vehicle would definitely change my life for the better. I am
currently looking for employment, my husband is disabled, and I have a
daughter that I need to get to and from school every day. I have been
relying on family to help out, but they need their vehicles too. My
husband has many doctor appointments because of his disability and his
diabetes and not having our own transportation makes it very difficult
finding and keeping a job.

St Joseph,

My stepdaughter, Jeni, needs a vehicle becuse she has taken control of
her life by getting out of an abusive three year marrage.  This marrage
has left her with very little, yet she has made the best of it by the
help and support from her family and friends. She has no transportation
of her own.

On October 31 she has made us all proud by giving us our first
grandson. This is the main reason for the vehicle. She plans on returning back
to work in December and full-filling her dream of going to college. It
would make it so much easier on her to be able to drive herself, than
having her mother get out with the baby in the cold winter. Jeni is
unable to drive her Mon's car as it is a stick.

As her Dad and I were at her apartment this afternoon, she told us how
excited she was this Christmas. Before she never had the chance for a
Merry Christmas, she said she felt like a kid she couldn't wait to put
up her tree. That is when I heard the announcement about the car
give-away on the radio.

My wish is that this can truly be a wonderful Christmas for Jeni, by
having her be selected for a car.  Thank you.

Olathe

My friend, Cathie is in need of a car. She is a single mother of a 9
yr old son. She had a truck that her parents bought for her and she was
making payments on it. But because of an abusive relationship that she
has had with them, they took it away from her when she would no longer
allow them to treat her and her son that way. Because of this she lost
her job and her home. She has found another job and is trying to once
again start a home for her and her son. But she is having to rely on
others to get her to and from work. Her son's father doesn't pay child
support on a regular basis, nor does he help with their child.
She is a very caring person, who tries to help other people who are
less fortunate than her. She is always saying that there are people
who are worse off then she is, so how can she complain. She has lived on
her own since she was 16, because of her dysfunctional family, but she
has always tried to help her friends whenever she could. I know that
this would mean the world to her, and that she would be very thankful
for the opportunity to be one more step closer to being a self-
sufficient person. Thank you

My daughter's fiance and son where hit by a car on Sunday November 6th,
2005. Her fiance passed away on the 9th and her son is recovering from
his injuries. He's in a wheel chair because he has a rod bolted to his
femur bone. She is also 8 1/2 months pregnant and has a 16 month old
baby.

She has no source of transportation and has to do her best to rely on
others to take both children back and forth to doctors. She is
desperately in need of her own transportation.

Thank You,

Independence,

I need a vehicle because I am 49, disabled and unable to pay for one
myself. I worked for over 20 yrs as a nurse and raised three children by
myself.
I only have $603.00 a month to live on, and anyone knows you can't buy
a dependable car on that amount of money.
My disablities do not hamper my ability to drive and having a vehicle
would also help me to not be depressed and feel so useless in my life.
For the last 6 years I have not been able to go to the doctor (I've
missed so many appts and it is beginning to be the cause of some of my
health problems), pharmacy, see my grandchildren, grocery store, or, most
of all it would enable me to go to church! I watch KCBT on Sunday
morning and that is the only time I have to "worship" the Lord. There are no
church busses that come to my apt complex and I could also start
helping others in need, which would help me more to realize that there is a
meaning to my life and I am needed.
I'm only 49 yrs old but I feel as though I'm 90 at times. Not that 90
is bad~but I get so depressed sometimes that I feel that the world
wouldn't miss me if I'm gone and I still have so much and so many
years to still give to others.
I have three grown children and they end up fighting over who is going
to take me somewhere and the only one that does help me is my daughter
and that isn't fair to her. She is going to start college soon and I
don't want to stand in the way of that for her. I DON'T want to be
dependent on my children~but it seems they aren't going to let me be anyway.
I would also be able to go see my grandchildren, who give me to
strength to go on each day and bring me the only true joy I have in my life
right now.
I would also be able to have friends again. I'm always at home so I
don't have the chance to make friends and do things with them. I am so
tired of being lonely~
I didn't know what other way to ask for your help~
I hope you don't feel me to be selfish, I've always been the person
that helped out where ever needed.
So, in closing I am asking you in the name of our Lord Jesus to
consider helping me this year with the blessing of a car and all the healing
that it can do for me in my life, both physically and mentally.
Thank You and May God Bless you all and what you are doing for those in
need in our community.

Patricia and Jerry @@@@@@@@ are my parents. They are wonderful parents
and have given their kids so much. They need a vehicle because they are
both disabled and can't afford a car payment nor do they have the money
to buy a used car. If I had the money I would buy them a vehicle but I
can't so this is my only hope. I tried this last year also but had no
luck. I just want to make there lives brighter and happier and I believe
them getting a vehicle would make them very happy and blessed to have a
daughter who would do this for them. In my heart, I truly believe that
they are two very deserving people and would greatly appreciate it more
than anyone I know. I also know that you receive a lot of emails from
people who need it just as much if not more. So I will understand if
they are not chosen to receive a vehicle. Until then I will hope and pray
that this Christmas will be brighter for both of them.

Michelle is a 23yr old mother of 2 year old twin boys and a 7 year old
girl. In May 2005 her car was stolen right outside of her house.
Police to date have no information on her vehicle. Since then a friend of
hers loaned her a car but only for 2 months. She can't get to work let
alone anywhere else for that matter without begging for a ride from
someone. Unemployed and no money for gas does tend to make people say no
to her. Here it is November and she's already received an eviction
notice for failure to pay rent and on top of that her utility bills are
stacking up. She hasn't had gas in her house for about 2 months now.
Single mother with kids and soon to be homeless and carless is enough for
anyone to go insane. Please help Michelle with a car so that she can
get back to work and start her life over again. I'm not sure where
she'll end up at after this month but you can contact me if your attempts
fail. This would be a most Greatful and Appreciated Christmas gift
not only for her but for the kids also. Thank you for your time and
I hope to be hearing from you soon.

My daughter has been living with a bum for approx. 15 years (I'm being
nice)She finally woke up and kicked him out of the house. The last car
that she bought was placed in his name. Why you might ask, I don't
have the answer to that one. She is the only one that has ever worked in
the home and is the one that makes all the payments. She borrowed the
$$ from a co-worker to buy this car. She kept the car when she kicked
him out. Last week someone was driving down her street and rear-ended
the car and totaled it out. My daughter has been working with the
insurance company for the check but since her name is not on the title they
will not deal with her and will only talk with the low life bum, that
will take this money and run.

In the course of the last month she kicked him out, lost her job and
now the car has been totaled and she will not receive the check from the
insurance company. Her gas has been turned off, the electric company
is threating to shut off the lights and the low life bum will not and is
not paying child support. They have 3 children together ranging from
14 years old to 10 years old.

I am not able to help her out, I don't receive child support and work 2
jobs to make ends meet in my house. I am never able to take off work
to drive her around to apply for jobs nor to apply for government
assistance. I have a friend, who's car is on it's last leg driving her
around to appointments for now but his car will not make it much longer. If
you are able to get a car for her she will be able to attend classes to
acquire her GED, and a trade for a job as well as being able to provide
for her 3 children. She has always been a hardworked but always did
what the bum wanted. I was so proud of the fact that she finally got rid
of him and now all the bad luck has really started. She has even
talked about taking him back in if the bad luck with stop.

I hope that you are able to help her out so that she can get her GED,
go to trade school and find another job. Along with getting her gas
turned back on and keeping her electricity on.

Thank you for your time,

Peggy
Lawrence, Ks,
Hi,
I am in serious need of a vehicular structure! :) I do ok here in
Lawrence and all, doing my grocery shopping, etc. by taking the bus and
such. So I survive ok. But, there have been times when getting to the
doctor, getting to school and work, and just having a life have been
challenging without a car. When I first started school at KU, my dad let me
borrow his truck for awhile. But since he needed it back and lives in
Texas, I have been at the mercy of sweet friends who help me out a lot,
when the bus isn't available. In the words of Bob Marley, "My feet is
my only carriage!" :) I know there are probably a lot of folks out
there that really are deserving of a fine gift as this, but if you choose
me, I promise to help my friends out as much as, if not more, as they
have helped me, and also to be careful on the road. :) Peace!

Kansas City, mo,
My name is Tanika #######.
I am currently in a transitional program to help women homeless and in
recovery. I am a single mother and in hope to regain an normal life
again to be able to support both of my children. I have a son age 11; and
daughter age 6. My mom is 65 years old, and has been helping me with my
children up to this point. I am 33 years old, tired of being stuck in a
rut of not being able to support myself and my children properly. My
income is now at poverty level, and I am going to outpatient treatment
3days a week. I also go to outside meetings every evening, in order to
keep myself balanced and structured in my recovery. I am now at the point
of getting proper employment. Which right now is difficult, being that
I do not have the proper transportation to get to a good job that will
support my children and I.

The kind of job I am applying for will pay for my childrens medical
perscriptions, along with mine own. I can also pay old bills that I have
on my credit. I pray that God helps me rebalance my life to be able to
be apart of society; instead of leaning on society. I am healthy and my
mind is troubled only for these needs I have stated above. My goals
after employment is to enroll into college, to get an degree in Funeral
Director Courses that I know I can fulfill along with the other
necessities I have to fulfill in my life. I hope that I qualify for this certain
help in my life, cause right now I am on my own besides the help of
this program I am in called; Friendship House/Catherines Place. Located in
KCMO Jackson County area. This place is very real and has given me
hope again in my life...

THE REASON WHY IS BECAUSE THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEIR JOBS AND
GETTING AROUND TO THE STORE WITH THEIR TWO YEAR OLD, THE CAR THEY HAD
GOT REPODED BECAUSE THEY BOTH LOST THEIR JOBS. HAD TO MOVE IN WITH FAMILY
FOR AWHILE BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T PAY THE RENT WHERE THEY WERE
LIVING. HAVING MONEY PROBLEMS IS CAUSING THEM TO LIVE FROM PAY CHECK TO PAY
CHECK. THEY SOMETIMES HAVE TO BORROW VEHICLES FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO
TAKE THEIR SON TO DOCTOR OPTINMENTS AND IF SOMETHING BAD WOULD HAVE HAPPEN
WITH THEIR SON THEY WOULD HAVE NO WAY TO GET SOMEWHERE SAFE. I REALLY
THINK THEY DESERVE TO HAVE THIS GREAT CHANCE TO GET A VEHICLE BECAUSE IT
WOULD CHANGE THEIR LIFE AND THEY BOTH HAVE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH.IT
WOULD GIVE THIS A CHANCE TO GET BACK ON TRACK AND BENEFIT THEIR SONS LIFE
FOR HAVING TO WALK PLACE TO PLACE IN COLD, HOT OR EVEN STORMY
WEATHER.THEY BOTH WOULD FIND BETTER JOBS THAT THEY COULD DRIVE TO.AND THEN MAYBE
THEY WOULD HAVE MONEY TO PAY RENT,DIAPERS, AND OTHER BILLS THEY H
AD HAVE TROUBLE WITH.THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO USE THEIR BILL MONEY TO BUY
A CAR.

Julia ###### is a mother of three living in Kansas City, MO.  She was
a mother of four until October 16th when she lost her 2 month old baby
boy to SIDS.  She struggles every day to make ends meet and keep things
together for her other children (13, 10 & 2) She needs a reliable
vehicle so she can transport her children to and from school and make it to
work to keep things afloat.  Julia is a giving person and never
complains about her circumstances . . . however, she deserves a break. Giving
everything Julia has been through, having a car that she can depend on
would make one less thing in her life that she needs to worry about.

Your consideration is greatly appreciate

I am hoping that luck will shine on Karessa ####.  She is an incredible
young woman who bravely faces each day with a smile and an easy going
attitude.  Karessa is undergoing dialysis three days a week, is
beginning to get sick more often requiring hospital stays, has a daughter who
has autism and requires every minute of her time, and worries about her
father is undergoing radiation therapy.  Karessa is a wonderful mother
who loves her family, but at the current time after losing an
apartment, is now going to be moving into another apartment after being homeless
for several months and staying with her father.  Karessa needs to rely
on others for transportation for her dialysis, and for doctor
appointments for herself as well as her daughter.  She has no transportation and
what stands out is that she doesn't complain, doesn't loose hope, and
continues taking one day at a time.  She is incredible and it would make
MY Christmas to see her receive a car so that her life will be
just so much easier.  Thank you.

Kansas City, Ks,

I am asking for a car for myself i am a sinle parent of two kids
getting ready to start a job Nov. 7th of 2005 that is going to change my life
as long as I can get to work every day on time. Last year it is my own
problem but i got a divorce lot my car, lost my house, lost my job,
went thru depression really bad, lost my mother hit depression again now I
begain coming out again and lost my car for the second time mean while
I am very scared about how I am going to make it back and forth to work
because the metro doesnt run the route all the time just till 530pm and
i will work all three shifts so i will have to walk from fairfax to 3rd
and quindaro to catch the bus if i get off before 9 pm because i think
that is when the last bus runs and I just want a chance to get back on
my feet again to return the favor to someone else. Please help me get
that chance.

Grandview,

HI, I am a 39 year old single mother of two teenagers.  In 2003 I was
in nursing school and for going to school it was a requirement for us to
show proof of vaccinations.  I wasn't able to find the proof I needed
so I had to take the mmr vaccination and the hep b vaccination.  Six
months later I was having numbness of feet, two more months I fell and
broke my ankle, during this period of time my feet really got swollen, I
couldn't feel them anymore.  I went to the neurologist and he diagnosed
me with guillian barre syndrome which is a rare disorder that is a
complication of the vaccinations I took.  I lost all movement from waist
down, couldn't roll over in bed, I had to be bathed by my mother.  I had
to sell my car.  I was in and out of hospital for 2 years, I had to have
20 plasma pheresis treatments which is a blood exchange of plasma.  I
was in a wheelchair 2 years.  In Sept of 2005 I was able to walk again.
I have most of my strength back, I need a car so that I can go t
o the doctors, and take my children to their appointments and basic
everyday errands, like going to the store.  Right now I have to ask
friends and my mother I would love to be more independent so  I wont have to
depend on friends, and my mother.

Belton,

I would like to nominate my mother for a car. She is a
wonderful mother, who is a blessing to everyone around her. She is
constantly spending her disability money trying to fix all the things wrong
with her car, which has not been successful, it continues to break down
monthly, and she already does not have enough money to live on. She
helps transport me, my four kids, my sister, and my niece, when she can. I
am currently involved in a divorce, I work and go to school, so does my
sister and we currently do not have the transportation that we need. I
have lost a lot of things due to this divorce, including my car. Some
how, in the midst of everything my mother still has the strength to help
us. Unfortunately sometimes there is nothing we can do when the car is
not running, which occurs a lot. We are all in desperate need of cars,
but I would love for my mother to have the transportation because she
cares so much for others and I would like her to be on the receiving end
for once, as she deserves. Hopefully, you can find it in
your heart to help us, as we all try to get up on our feet. Thanks, and
God bless.
Independence,
she is new to the city just a year in town and has no way to get around
or to get a job she has been riding the bus to work and the boss she
had at steaknshake knew that she was on the bus
and would keep her till after the bus stopped running it stops at 5pm
out here
and it was part of the reason that she had been fired so now she is
without a car and looking for a job she is about to get her lights shut
off and maybe kicked out of the house she lives in i live with her and
pay all i can but its not enough and without her working its getting
worse so please help her out

Overland Park,

I am submitting this letter for my mother because she really needs
help. In the last 5 years my mother has had 2 heart attacks, 4 major
surgeries, and through all this time she has not had a vehicle and maintained
a job. She is currently recovering from her latest surgery. She wants
to work and be able to get around. I help as much as I can but I work
full-time so I am unable to make sure that she always gets to doctor's
appointments and she can't work because my schedule won't allow it. It
would mean the world to her if she had a vehicle because then she could
have her independence back and not have to rely on others for the things
that she needs. She could begin working again and not have to worry
about getting there or home. She would be able to get, in effect, her life
back. Please consider her for your cars 4 Christmas program. Thank You.

Independence,

Family is in desperate need of vehicle.  Family has trouble making well
child check-ups for 10m old and Katrina is pregnant, due November 4th.
She has missed many prenatal appointments.  Lloyd is currently
receiving disability and Katrina is in the application process.  Both have been
diagnosed with BiPolar Disorder and Katrina, more recently, with Major
Depressive Disorder.  She has been referred to counseling outside of
the home after the baby arrives, but is unsure of how she will make
appointments.  Katrina has trouble setting up Medicaid Transportation due to
her level of functioning.  Family is looking at losing TANF due to
inability to get to mandatory Workforce Development meetings.  At
Christmas, this family will have two children (12m and 1m).  With
transportation, this family would be better able to access medical appointments to
keep both children and their parents healthy.

Merriam,

Since there is no public transportaion in this area, I need a car for
shopping and to get a job that I so desperately need. I need more
income than my social security and I am unable to work because I can't get
to a place of employment.

I can't tell you what it would mean to me to be able to get around as I
need to get to doctor's and dental appointment's in KC, MO. I am new
to this area and don't know very many people. I am a veteran and my
doctor is at the Veteran's Hospital in KC, MO. I am able to get around on
my own so I am responsible to getting to and from the hospital on my
own.

Thank You.

MARY IS A SINGLE MOTHER WITH TWO CHILDREN, GOING THROUGH A ROUGH
DIVORCE. SHE IS A HARD WORKING MOTHER THAT DOES HER BEST TO SUPPORT AND RAISE
HER ONE YEAR OLD SON AND HER TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. BUT SHE STILL
STRUGGLES AND CAN'T SEEM TO CATCH A BREAK. ACTUALLY NOT MORE THAN TWO WEEKS
AGO SHE STRUGGLED TO GET THE MONEY TO PUT NEW TIRES ON HER MINI VAN,
BECAUSE THE WIRES WERE SHOWING, ONLY TO HAVE HER SOON TO BE EX-HUSBAND
TAKE IT FROM HER.  LEAVING HER NO WAY TO GET TO AND FROM WORK. AND WITH
NO WAY TO WORK IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SUPPORT TWO KIDS.  I JUST THINK
THAT MARY DESERVES ANY BREAK THAT SHE CAN GET.

Dr. permission to work part time since my two heart
surgeries at Mayo Clinic in January 2005. Diabetes and arthritis but I
would prefer to work part time.
Unable to keep my car due to numerous medical bills

Platte City, MO

Lisa, along with two of her three children are on SSI because they are
disabled.  Her husband has recently filed for disability, so they are
definitely on a fixed income.  Platte City is pretty rural and there is
no public transportation.  Most of their doctor appointments are in
Kansas City and they are currently relying on a friend to drive them.
Lisa and her family would greatly benefit from having their own car, so
they could consistently get to doctor appointments, to the grocery store,
and to the kids activities.  They live disability check to disability
check and saving for a car just isn't an option for them.  Please
consider this deserving family for your program.

Sincerely,

Eryn

My aunt Laura ****** needs a vehicle due to the fact that she is
unfortunate to afford to buy one at this point of time she has two beautiful
daughters and she is a single parent that try's her best to take care of
them, the oldest daughters father is dead and the youngest ones father
is on drugs and living in the streets. She works at Wendy's to try to
make ends meet and support her kids. She is a parent that is very
involved with her kids life, and if she had transportation she could get to
more events and take her kids out more often. She deserves the best for
being a good parent even through the hard times.

I am a single mother working a full-time job and going to school.
Recently my car broke down and because of this I have been had to post-pone
school and I trouble getting to work everyday. Everyday day is a
struggle for my daughter and I without transportation. It's hard for me to
get to work and get my daughter to her doctors appointments. I feel that
if I had a car I would be able to go to go back to school and keep my
job so that I can support my fammily. I am not asking for a new car as a
matter of fact the car doesn't even have to have window that roll
down..lol..As long as it gets me to and from work and school my daughter and
I would really appreciate it that would make our christmas.
Thank you

KC, MO,

My mother is a hardworking lady that is trying to complete her degree
at Penn Valley, she has to catch the bus to and from work then back and
forth to school, sometimes she has to go to longview in which is out of
her way because she has to catch a ride here and there, she has a car
but it is on its last leg, the window does not go up on the passagers
side and the door does not open on the drivers side so she has to slide
in and out when she goes anywhere, the frontend shakes like the tire is
going to fall off and she can not afford to fix anything. Please help
her if you can, she just needs a fresh start. With all the crime out
here I am worried about her catching the bus in the early morning hours
and the late evenings.

My mother is a single parent who is trying to pout my brother and I
through school. She is paying out of state fees. She is a foster parent,
and has adopted three boys. The van we have is not very reliable. We
have spent so much money on tyring to keep the transmission from going out
again. We had someone fix it, but the van is running worse than it was
before. My mom relies on her van for everything. She works in N Kansas
City, but she stays on 43rd st. in the city. A vehicle could change her
life by helping her out just a little bit,and take the strain off of
the costs of my schooling. Any help is needed, we are really struggling.

I am a 22 year old single mother of a 4 year old little boy. Connor and
I have been homeless and recently I have been unemployed. I just
started a new job. But with no income for the last 9months I had to give up
my car. I was on medical leave for depression and anxiety. Currently I
need a car to get back and forth to work as well to take Connor to and
from school.
We lost Connor's grandpa unexpectedly this summer, and things just
seem to be getting worse instead of better. I have been trying to purchase
a car on my own, but due to several runs of bad luck I dont have the
credit to do so.
Connor and I are currently living with my mom, paying $400 a month in
rent. Her alcoholic ways make it hard to have anything stable. And
without a car we are stuck to deal with her all the time. I know it would
make a huge difference to Connor and myself if we were able to obtain a
reliable car for this winter.
With my health problems and Connors medical bills from a broken leg,
again we are unable to save for a car. Thank you for your time.

My family had lived in New Orleans all their lives prior to Hurricane
Katrina.   As a result of HK they are now here in Kansas living with me
and my 2 children.  I am currently unemployed and a single mother.

My Uncle was missing until Labor Day when we finally received word that
the Coast Guard rescued him via helicopter from his home, which was
filled with 6ft of water.  He survived on bottled water , soda pop, and
canned food.  He was taken to the New Orleans airport and then sent to
Washington DC prior to his arrival in Kanasas City.

Residing with me and my children are:
my 80 year old grandparents, my aunt, and 2 cousins.  My grandparents
need to be taken to their doctor appointments and to get their
medicines, and my cousin needs to be transported to school and back. My aunt is
wanting to find employment to provide for the 5 of them.  She is not
able to look for employment at this time because she has no
transportation and she is not able to afford transportation because she does not
have a job.  She is a preschool/kindergarden teacher with 30 years of
experience.

I personally have not been able to look for employment because I am
taking and picking up my cousin and my children to school.  I am also
making all the trips to the grocery store, pharmacy, school conferences and
doctors appointments.  I live in my car!  It would be so much help for
all of us if my aunt had a vehicle.  She would be able to seek and
obtain employment, which would allow her to take care of her family and
also allow me to take care of mine.

We have been given donations of furniture and clothing. The outpour of
support from our community has been overwhelming and greatly
appreciated.  Our family has lost everything along with thousands of others, but
we have not lost hope and faith and we have grown stronger from this
disaster.

A vehicle for my Aunt would help provide a new start for our family

Karen Needs a vehicle badly. She Has just undergone heart surgery and
the only way Karen is getting around is by foot. Karen also has blood
clots in the leg and when she tries to walk the blood clots make it
almost impossible for her to walk. I really hate it when Karen has to walk
any where especially long distance. Karen also needs a vehicle badly
because she has to get to doctors and her doctors office is a long ways
from where she lives. Karen also will be going through another heart
surgery to fix the main valves in heart. So if you can please help her get
a car before winter sets in. Karen's doctor told her that she can't
even be out walking in weather below 40*F and weather temps above 80*F or
any humid weather. So I do hope and (†) pray that you folks can help
Karen out with an automobile, that way Karen is able to get around alot
easier. Thank you for your help.  Sincerly Jake

She has a daughter that is in the last stages of kidney disease and
doesn't have a car to get her to the hospital for her dialysis treatments.
It would help relieve a lot of the stress off of her because she
wouldn't have to always worry about finding a ride for these lifesaving
appointments.
It would also help Megan her sick daughter as she feels like a burden
upon the family at this time since she feels as though a lot of the
financial drain upon the family is coming from her medical condition. A car
for her mom would lift both their spirits. Thank you for your
consideration of them. Elaine

Hello;
My name is Michael, and I am writeing again because my wife and I
really need your help. I'm 37 and Disabled. I broke my neck in four places
in 1999. I can walk and drive, but I am unable to work. I am supporting
my wife Becki and our 15mo.old son Tyler on $500. We live in Odessa
Missorui which is a very small town. My wife has been looking for work but
she has not been anything in town. She would love to go back into
Nursing and go to school for her RN. I was able to save up $300 to by an old
1976 Delta 88. It gets 9mpg and is very unsafe. I was on my way back
from having a catscan last month, and the rear tire behind Tyler's carseat
blowout. It covered his carseat with pieces of rusted metal. It also
blowout the wheel well and left a hole in the trunk that is so big you
can see the rear tire all the way over to the gas tank. The frontend
shakes so bad I can nolonger trust it. I can only let them ride in it here
in town. There for I'm unable to get Becki back and forth to eve
 n look for work.

If you can help us with a car it would mean so much to us. It would
mean that Becki could go back to work and even get her RN. It also would
help us get off public Assistants, and be able to give our son Tyler a
better life. It is hard for me to tell you just how bad we need this, I
have never had to beg before, but for my wife and son I would do
anything. Can you please help us? "I beg you!!!" When you read this please
let me know somthing. Just weather there is any chance at all. I just
need a little hope and that my words have been heard. Please I have
nowhere else to turn.....

Thank You

I need a car so badly. I have two very young children ages 5 and 2.
My 5 year old recently started school in a gifted children's program. I
have a lot of medical problems right now. My Grandpa, 80 years old,
who lives in Olathe, around 20 miles away from me, has been taking me to
my many doctors appointments. I'd love to be able to drive myself to
my doctor's appointments. I need a safe vehicle for my children to ride
in, and one that's great on mileage so that I can afford to drive it.
My husband is salaried at only $12,000.00 per year, and commission are
slim. He also has a beautiful 7 year old daughter who lives in St.
Louis whom he provides almost $400 a month in child support for. The car
he drives to work won't even make it to St. Louis for him to be able to
visit her. The vehicle my husband drives isn't even safe for our
children to ride in, and I am unable to drive it. Not to mention it has no
heating or air conditioning. I'd like to be able to get through
my medical problems and get back to work, but that is not even an
option without transportation. My husband is struggling to take care of
all of us and his other little girl who he can't even go to visit right
now. My husband is feeling very depressed these days, he misses his
daughter, he missed her on her Birthday this year too. The vehicle he
drives, he needs to have at work everyday. I need a car of my own, that
I can use while he's at work to get to my doctor's appointments and
hopefully to get a job next summer, if I can get through these medical
issues. Please help us!

Overland Park, Ks

I am a single mother of three. Ages 8,9yrs. & 18mo.
I lost my car some time ago because my father was on the lien and he
filed bankruptcy and I had lost my job and was having trouble keeping up
with the payments. For 4 months I was getting rides from my supervisor
and my best friend, sometimes running our of food because I couldn't get
a ride to the store. Then my church gave me a car which was an 88
chrysler convertable, it barley fit my three kids in it and unknown to the
church it has several problems with it and finally broke down and I
don't have the money to get it fixed. So now I'm back in the same situation
being with out a car and I know the same people that were helping
before are going to be reluctant to go back to the same routine. It is almost
a full time job to take my kids to school and my baby to daycare and me
to work and then have to do the same thing again in the afternoon
picking everyone back up. My credit is so horrible that I can not get
approved for a loan. No body will touch me because I was as a temp. I
t doesn't matter that I have been working at the same company for two
years, the fact is that I am employed through a temp agency.
I also had to file bankruptcy this summer so you can see why I can not
get approved. It breaks my heart when my children ask to go somewhere
and I can not take them. We are always stuck at home. I am afraid of
loosing my job because I can not get to work and I thank God for my
supervisor being as understanding as she has been. I just want to be self
sufficient and be able to take care of things on my own instead of always
having to have someone take me everywhere I need to go. It is hard on
me emotionally having to depend on others and constantly feeling like a
burden. I would greatly appreciate anything you can do and bless my
children with a dependable car.

I'm Cory from Overland Park, Kansas and my mother is in a need of a
car. My mother has been without a job for 3 yrs because of her health
condition, she also is trying to fight for her disability and haven't got
it yet. It is very hard for my mother to get around places she needs to
go to like to the store, and doctor's appointment. It is very hard for
her to get to there, cause she always calling for a ride, and no one
comes to see about her and that stress her out for not getting to the
appointment she needs to go to. My mother also don't have no health
insurance and have to go to these free clinic, but they still charge her
money when she don't have it.

If you must know that my mother suffers from Lupus,
Fibromylia,Asthma,Hypertension she really needs to see her doctors not these clinic's,
cause she doesn't have insurance to see her regular doctor, and without
transportation its hard to get around places whether its clinic or
regular doctor office.

If my mother is a chosen one for a car i know it will lift her spirits
up and i know she will enjoy something like that and cherish for a life
time.
