My dad's insurance paid off the van upon his death.  I thank God for 
that because otherwise my mom wouldn't have been able to make the 
payments.  Unfortunately, the van was already having some serious mechanical 
problems.  And they have only gotten worse in the two years since Dad 
passed away.

My mom works at an elementary school, and she loves her job so much 
that people see her willingness and take advantage of it.  There's not a 
position in that school that my mom couldn't run.  It's the same way in 
her church.  My mom, my sister (who is away at college now), and my 
mom's friend run their church.  Their church is ultra small.  Usually, 
it's just the three I mentioned plus a stand-in pastor who are in 
attendance.  (The pastor of the church died recently, and there has been no 
decision made for a full-time pastor.)  In order to keep up attendance, my 
mom visits families in surrounding towns and will actually go and pick 
up those families in her jalopy of a van to get them to church and home 
again afterwards.  Why the church has held on with so little 
participation (and therefore so little income) only God can know.  All I know is 
this:  If my mom's van finally gave up and quit on her, and if she 
wasn't able to make it to church, that church would cease to exist.  
 If she wasn't able to make it to work, she herself would cease to 
exist.

I live in North Carolina.  My mom lives in Kentucky.  My church 
recently had a van donated to us.  Unbelievable!  Yet, if someone out there 
has such a loving, giving spirit, maybe there's more people like that.  
Maybe my mom has a chance after all.

MY DAUGHTER IS IN NEEED OF A CAR FOR MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION. SHE IS
ONLY 21 YEARS OLD AND HAS ALREADY HAD 140 SURGERIES AND MORE TO COME. SHE
HAS BEEN DISABLE SINCE SHE WAS 18 MONTHS OLD . WE HAVE TO TRAVEL TO
LOUISVILLE KY EVERY 2-3 MONTHS FOR HER SURGERY. IT HAS BEEN HARD AS A
SINGLE PARENT TO MAKE SURE SHE GETS TO LOUISVILLE BECAUSE I DON`T HAVE GOOD
TRANSPORTATION .I HAVE HAD TO GET OTHER PEOPLES CARS  ETC...TO GET HER
THERE. SHE HAS PAPILLOMAS ON HER VOCAL CORDS AND WITHOUT SURGERY SHE
WILL SUFFOCATE .NOW SHE IS OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE TRANSPORTATION TO GET THERE
BUT I CAN`T AFFORD IT. HER ONLY WISH IS TO HAVE A CAR EVEN THOUGH SHE
COULD NOT DRIVE HERSELF THE DAY OF HER SURGERY BUT SHE HAS ALOT OF
DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS. THANK YOU FOR READING MY STORY FOR MY WONDERFUL AND
BRAVE DAUGHTER THAT HAS BEEN THROUGH MORE THAN I EVER COULD HAVE. MAYBE ONE

nearest store is 1.5 miles away. has herniated disk in lower back.
cannot walk too much for long distances. has limited fixed income, on
social security and VA disability pension. A vehicle would help them do
shopping, go to doctor's appointments and other functions. No bus service
in area and taxi service is too expensive. person is 59 yrs. old.

am a single mom i have two kids am a hard working mom who work from
check to check to make ends meet. i walk every where i need to go because
i have no transportation to get anywhere am trying to go school right now to
make a better life four me and my kids but right now i have put
everything on hold because i have no transportation to get their am only writting
to see if you all could help me with a car because i really need one am
not trying to make my story sound bad like most people would am trying to
be honest about everything because i really need the help

My best friend really needs a car....she has two small children
ages 3 and 5. she has worked everyday of her life to keep her little
family going because all she has is her kids....her parents dis-owned her
when she was just a baby...they gave her to her moms mother and that
lady had to raise her....the bad thing was her grandmother was
already 60 when her mom dropped her off.....her granny died
when she turned 14. she had to live with her aunt after
that cause her mom still wouldn't take her back. Her aunt died
when she was 16 so she moved into her own little apartment and
started a new life. she started a job and has worked with no help for 9
years now...she never has enough money to get herself a car no matter how
hard she tries to budget her paychecks and she has to depend on others
to get around....and that doesn't always work out well....she has lost
three jobs by depending on others to take her. she is now unemployed
  because of such reasons and is currently looking for a job close to
my house so she can walk to work because she has also lost her
apartment and she and her two girls live with me. she is a wonderful woman and
does her best to keep on  living but i think she has the worst luck no
matter how hard she tries....she truly deserves a chance to get things
on the right track and i believe that if she has a car she can make
everything better for her family

I am a single mother of two children I am trying to work and go to
school at night, my car recently broke down after having so many miles on
it and it being very old, now I am having to catch rides with who ever I
can find just to get to work. My bills are more than I make so its
impossable to buy a car.I really want to finish school and try to make my
life and my kids life better I just dont have a way to help myself.If
anyone could help me I would be grateful

My mother is in desperate need of a reliable vehicle to get herself and
my sister to the places they need to go. My mother has a heart
condition, and is supposed to go to the doctor once a month. She suffered a heart
attack about 2 and a half years ago. She draws disability, but does not
draw enough to buy a vehicle, and pay her bills too. We live several miles
apart, and it is very hard for me to get to her and my sister a lot of
times.She has no other way to get anywhere. She has not had her
medication in about a month, because I have not been able to go get her.My
vehicles water pump and starter is out
now,making it impossible for me to go pick her up.If something were to
happen to my mom,I would never be able to forgive myself.Thank you for

Hello my name is Gussie my daughter Sarah stays with my husband and
myself, she has two small girls. Sarah helps us by taking us to the
doctors and wherever we need to go. We cannot afford to help her get a car
that she needs to get a job and go back to school and take her children
to the doctor and other ingagments. She has been seperated from her
husband for two years but he never worked and was always in trouble. They
(Sarah an Girls)have very little income 262.oo dollars a month and can't
afford much of anything much less a car.

It would be great for her to get a car so she could work and go back to
nursing school. She needs this car to make a better life for her
children. I hope you choose them there lives could be going in the right
direction within the next year.

Hello, my name is Lisa ####### . I have been emancipated since I was 16.
I have not been able to get a car on my own. I had a car, but my
daughter's dad took it away from me and I cant even work. I have a lot of
bills to pay for such as school. The payment is 85.00 a month, and I have
no idea where in the world I am going to get it unless I have a job.
But, I have to have a car to get there and to take my baby to the baby
sitters. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I need a car so bad, I have a daughter and
another baby on the way, and I have to take them to the doctor's office and
