they get sick is not easy. please, if you can, help us. i really need a
car.

Thank you,

Miami

AUG 06 I became a widow and Oct 06 I became unemployed.  I have three
minor children and would like to enter school for a LPN program, if that
doesn't work out I would nonetheless need to find a job.  My current
car has been costly with the repairs need. I would like to have a more
reiable car.

St Petersburg

My Mother is in desperate need of a car. For over 2 years she has had
to rent a car. She is going through a divorce and has great need of a
car in order to get a job and support herself. She is 63 years old and is
not beneath walking to work but she has tumors on the bottom of her
feet which makes it difficult to walk long distances. Please help if
possible. She is a hard worker and has raised 4 children and needs a break.
I pray everyday that a miracle will happen and a car would be presented
to her very soon.

Thank you and God Bless!

my mom got so He tried to kill my oldest I got in between and took the
hits getting my kids to the neighbors as he then ripped my shirt off me
leaving me exposed to all outside as he continued his abuse till the
police arrested him.  He has a restraining order but the funds to help us
relocate are available to us till Dec 31st.

Gainesville,

Emani is a single mother of five. She works hard to support her family.
She needs a car so that she can get back and forth to work on time so
that she can support her family and be able to pick her children up. She
needs a car so that she can be me more involved at the school like she
desires to. She needs a car so that she will not have to ask other
people or take the bus with five kids. She lives two miles away from the
bus stop and has to walk down the road with five little children by
herself and there is no side walk. If she was choosen to receive a car I
think that it would help ease her mind and to be able to focus more on
enjoying her children instead of stressing about the next day or if she
will still have a job. I hope that you consider her for this. It would be
greatly appreciated by her and her family as well.

Thank you!

I am a single parent of three children, not single, but my husband has
been incarcerated for the next 10yrs. and i am trying to raise my
15,14, and 8 yr. old children on my own! I have a part time job waitressing
right now and it is hard for me to try to get a car. I live in a very
small town of about 500, and I live 20 miles from the next town! I am
living with my Mother-in-law of ten years now to get me back on my feet, i
am so desperate to get a car so that I can travel to the next closest
town of Marriana, Fla. to find a better paying job. I pray to God
everyday for another chance and just hope that he will grant my wish, but
only time will tell! Please help me to try and be a better parent and
caregiver to my children!
                                  Thank You,

Hi,
My name is Marilyn and I am disabled and what I receive on disability
leaves me in no position to purchase a used car. I don't need anything
fancy just a car to get me to the grocery store and doctors
appointments.
Cabs are too expensive for me and I live in a rural area. I am in
desperate need of a car. I have a good driving record and I can pay for
insurance but cannot afford a car payment also.
I have never asked for anything like this before but I have no choice,
I have looked at every option and I have come up empty.
Someone directed me to this site so I decided to give it a try. I hope
I can get some help somewhere.
Sincerely,
Marilyn

Crystal River,

I am a single parent, that it helping my daughter raise her four year
old son, In December 2004 I had my car repossessed for non payment. Let
me explain. I have worked and sacrificed all my life for my kids, always
giving up things I need for the need of my children. My daughter made a
choice that resulted in her having a son. She wanted, and I encourage
her to continue her education after high school to give her and her son
a better life. She bought a car with the help of my mother, this car is
in my mothers name. Times got ruff for her and I had to help pay the
car note. Trying to keep her car from being repossessed, I got myself in
trouble and lost my car. I have had to file bankruptcy, due to my son
and I being in wrecks the no money to pay high medical cost. I do not
have the money, the credit to obtain another car. We have been using my
daughters car, but this car is in bad need of repair and we can not even
afford to pay for repairs. We are behind in rent, car note and
utilities, sitting here now trying to figure out how I could pay past
due utilities, and still buy groceries for my family. If I had a car I
could travel out and obtain a better paying job that would allow me to
provide better for my family. Then my daughter could go back to school
and finish her education so she could make a better life for her and her
son. I would be able to help my son, continue his education, he
graduates this may. I was not able to afford his cap and gown, the school paid
for his cap and gown, and he is working that fee off, he did not get
invitation, senior portraits, or even get to go on the senior trip. This
hurt my heart, that I can not support my family. Please you can see
that a new or even a good used car would allow my whole family to step up,
and be able to breathe and pay our bills because we could get better
job, finish school. This would be a blessing, and God would bless this.

Santa Rose Beach

My name is Christine and I'm a mother of 2 girls Nadine and Michelle,
and I'm responsible of my 70 years old mother who lives with us, we all
share a 2 bedroom trailer,  and my husband is in jail due to a problem
he has with drugs, and he's paying for it now. Well we have a very old
car, 91 ford explore that don't work anymore, I live in north Florida
where there is no public transportation, and I just do not have any money
to buy a running car, and I need to work to support my family, and
without transportation I'm just lost, I'm starting a new job on Monday, I'm
trying to figuring out how to go there. I try to get rides, but I can't
count on people all the time, my mother uses a wheel chair and I have
not be able in 2 months to get her out of the house to a lack of a
running car, I just need somebody to help me fix mine about 1000 dollars or
just a running car, that is safe for my family, if anybody out here can
help me, I will be thankful for the rest of my life. I have done the
impossible, but I do not make enough money to qualified for any kind
of loan or credit, if I could I would get 2 jobs, but I have to take
care of my mother and daughters too, so a car will be a blessing, because
my older daughter who is 17 could get a part time job to help the
family, but without transportation we just are stuck, thank you Christine

Davie,

My friend Kimberly is a great person.  She is recently divorced, and
moved to Florida to take care of her 86 year old Grandmother.  Her
brother borrowed her car and totaled it. Her son got trouble and is in jail,
She can only visit him on Sundays, and where she lives they don't have
Sunday bus service. Her uncle brought her a 1990 Chevy Cavaleir so she
can get her grandmother to Doctor's appointments. Her car was leaking
gas so she stopped driving it until someone could look at it. Well in
September Hurricane Wilma came through where she lives, and a tree limb
fell, and cracked her windshield, and flooded her car out. She asked
Fema for help, but was turned down. She doesn't mind taking the bus but
the service is very limited, and trying to get her Grandmother on the bus
is very hard, as her grandmother is wheelchair bound. Kimberly is
returning to school, and trying to get a fresh look at life.  a car would
help her out a lot. As she wouldn't have to worry about walking a nig
ht when it is dark out, She could go to school and if an emergency
came up with her Grandmother. she could make it home fast. She could also
go visit her father who lives on the other side of the state.  She has
only seen him 1 time in a year. She could have a merry Christmas as last
year was very sad for her.

Jacksonville,

I am requesting that my mother be considered for a car, the reason why I
think that she should qualify is because my mother works very hard to
provide a life for me and to teach me by example. We are living in
Florida because of hurricane Katrina that took everything that we had in New
Orleans, my mother has taken care of my 2 younger aunts and my uncle
because my grandmother was in prison and my mother didn't want to see her
siblings go into foster care, so without any assistance or aid from
anyone in our family my mother has taken care of 4 children and herself
for the past 5 years. Doing the summer my mom was not working full time
and got behind in her car note and our household bills were more
important so she gave her car back and had to use public transportation to get
to work and to and from school ( my mom was going to school to become a
nurse)my mom saved a little money to buy a used car and than the
hurricane hit and we could not use the car to get out of town so whe
n we returned home our car had been stolen and our house broken into,
taking what we assumed was not destroyed by Katrina. Please help my
mother becuse we don't have anything and my mother rides the bus daily
trying to find a job and housing to help better our situation. My mother
wants to go back to school and I know that she is hurting but is trying
to be strong and positive for me I would rather see my mother with a
smile on christmas morning because she has made me smile all my
life.PLEASE HELP US

St Petersburg,

Aisha never thought she would be asking for such significant help. At
18, she met a man she thought she would spend the rest of her life
with. Together they had a son five years later and now at 28, Aisha and
her son are starting over. Her partner of ten years has had a dramatic
change in character, leaving Aisha and Trey with nothing except each
other and her work family who loves her dearly. She sacrificed her
education for her partner and her son but never regretted the decision to put
them first. Aisha has a great job, great in what she does for others,
not so great for her pocketbook. She provides support services to
people who are mentally retarded and living in group homes. To make her need
even more dramatic, Aisha's whole family lives in New Orleans and what
they could have done to help her in the past is now all tied up in
recovery from Hurricane Katrina. So you see, in spite of her strong
support system and her golden heart, Aisha needs help. When her partner
left, he left with her vehicle. She has had to find a new place to
live, a new school for her son and a whole new start. In order to make
it work, she needs a car. We can help her with the love we have to
give, with things to furnish her apartment and all the emotional support
there is, but you can help us with this. Won't you please help?

Tampa,

The reason I am requesting help for myself is because, I don't know who
else to turn to.  I moved here to Florida in 2004 with just my children
and I.  I am a single mother of 3 children.  Two girls and 1 boy ages
10, 7, and 6.

The reason I need a vehicle is because it is very difficult to get
around here in Florida. Honestly I have no one to sponsor me.  I have no
friends or family here in Florida.  In order for me to be able to take my
children to doctors appointments, school events, shopping to purchase
groceries when you can't get to a grocery store of your choice having to
pay high prices for groceries is unbelievable.  Paying double for
groceries.  Since I have been here all I have accomplished is being able to
maintain a place to stay for my children and I.  Which I have to pay
bills for us to be able to continue to stay there. I have been almost
evicted several times because I have trouble being able to get back and
forth to work and maintain a job to be able to pay the bills.

If some one can help me to be able to get back and forth to work
because the bus system here in Florida is so messed up.  I really do need a
way to get around besides public transportation.

Middleburg,

I have a Daughter that is 27 years old.  She was married for about 4
years until her husband decided to leave her.  There she has no support
from him of any kind, not even child support and He left her with 3
small children all under the age of 2 years old. They need to get around
with a vehicle to go to the Doctor, Store or etc.  I believe this Vehicle
will change her life in a lot of ways.  She will happy to know that
there is help.  Please help my daughter with a Vehicle for her family.

      Thank you,

Bonifay,

My mom needs a car so that she can get a job and work to support my 11
year old brother and I...plus she would be able to bring me to work
after school and all of the other things that she needs to do but can't
b/c she has no transportation (grocery shopping, little league, church,
school functions)...We were depending upon my grandma but Hurrican
Katrina took everything she owned!

Panama City Beach,

Hi I am a friend of latoya  who I am writing in reference
to.  Latoya is a evacuee from hurricane Katrina and had evacuated to fl.
She had a vehicle and lost it in the hurricane she was waiting on the
paperwork to get finished between her and her brother, anyway in the
event it had been flooded out.  Latoya is also a mother of a 10 year old
son Tyler.  Everything is such a great distance from where she is
located.  There isnt any public transportation in the area and she needs
transportation to get her son back and forward to school and also for just
everyday life such as making groceries, taking her son out on the
weekends and enjoy himself as opposed to being inside a house 24/7.  There
isnt anything in walking distance from her house.  She loves the area,
and might I add she is getting a good deal on the rent, however it is
not convient at all.  I would really like to nominate this awesome
mother/friend. as a candidate to receive a vehicle.               Thanks,
   Lloyd

Lakeland,

I'm asking for a car for my daughter, Kari.  Kari has had such horrible
luck with cars this year that I wouldn't believe it myself had I not
been part of her story.  You see, "in between" cars I've been her sole
means of transportation to and from her job as well as taking her around
town to do her personal errands.  (Kari does not live with me.)  She
contributes to gas, but most of the time it's I who have to put it in the
tank; she doesn't make that much as a housekeeper at a local
University, and almost all of her money goes on bills and food.

The last car she had threw a rod, and she had to junk it.  We've tried
every avenue we could think of to get another car for her, but her
credit is poor which prevents a loan.  If I could co-sign for her I would
do it in a heartbeat, but my own credit isn't much better.  I've written
to churches, put pleas out on the internet to different organizations,
have posted on Freecycle Groups, and have written to friends asking
them to keep their eyes open for a car for Kari.

I don't mind taking my daughter to work and wherever else she needs to
go.  After all, it's "me and her against the world."  We're all we
have.  However, I'm not in the best of health.  I had a heart attack April
of 2001, have Degenerative Disc Disease in my neck and lower back with
bulging discs, Uveitis (eye disease that can cause me to lose my sight
if not followed by an ophthalmologist), and was in an automobile
accident August 16, 2005.  The physical problems I have were worsened by the
car accident, and I have been on muscle relaxers, anti-inflammorys, and
pain killers all of which make me sleepy.  Consequently, I have a very
hard time waking up to get her to work on time.  She's been late
anywhere from three (3) minutes to an hour, and I'm afraid she'll lose her
job because of me.  Kari loves what she does at the University, and is
just as afraid as I am that she'll loose her job.  Most recently Kari
missed an important meeting because I couldn't wake up to get her to
her work place on time for it.  She has a spotless record, has never
been written up for anything, but she might well be written up for
missing the meeting.  And all because of me.

Please, please, please if you can see your way clear to get a car to
Kari I would be most grateful, and I know Kari would be, too.

Thanking you for your time, I am,

Carol

Fort Meyers,

I am 36 years old and in need of reliable transportation. I have not
been able to see my family in 3 years because of lack of dependable
transportation. Two years ago, my dad had an accident at work and lost his
leg and I wasn't able to be there for him. Now my grandmother has been
diagnosed with alzheimer's and has been placed in a nursing home and I
can't visit her because I live in Florida and they live in NC and I
don't have dependable transportation. I have a car that I would donate if
able to get a more reliable vehicle. The car I have is 20 years old
and due to bad credit, I am unable to finance a better car. I know my
story is not as drastic as others but I would like to see my family
before they leave this world. I also would like to volunteer with working
with kids in foster care and helping them see their parents on
supervised visits, but due to my transportation situation, I am unable to do so
at this time. If you were to allow a vehicle to me, you would also
be touching the lives of many children in foster care. I work for
social services and know that this is a real need. Thank you for your
consideration.

Arcadia,

Whitney will be 16 on November 8. she is a remarkable young lady. she
has always maintained excellent grades and has a wonderful rapore with
teachers and students. she volunteers time with handicap children as
well as people in nursing homes. she is the oldest of 4 children and is
very self sacrificing. she comes from a poor family but always holds
herself high. her mother suffers from panic attacks and agoraphobia so she
has to do alot for her little brothers and sisters. she has always
dreamed of having a car but knows there is no way her family could afford
one. she would be the most appreciative person in the world..she has
donated many hours collecting clothing and etc. for katrina victims..and
last year after hurricaine charley ravedged our community, she was one
of the few that went door to door to see if she could help other remove
the debri.. she is a dedicated christian and speads the word every
chance she can. i know she would do good by others if she had a way of
going. this summer she worked as a life guard and helped pay the
household bills while her parents were out of work and struggling, she also
bought school clothes for her younger siblings and gets them ready in
the mornings and walkes them to the bus stop, a half mile away. please
keep her in mind when you make decisions on giving someone
transportation..thank you and god bless.

Port Charlotte,

Stacy is my sister.  My whole life she has been the type of person to
always help you. no matter what you needed, or how it might hurt her to
do so.  Stacy has 3 children, a 17 yr old boy, a 16 yr old boy, and a 5
yr old boy.  My sister just recently moved to this area.  She was
having financial problems where she used to live.  Unfortunately those
problems seem to have followed her here.  Stacy has been an insulin
dependent diabetic since she was 2.  In the years since, she has developed
other medical issues.  She now also has Graves Disease and Coronary Artery
Disease.  Right now she has let both of those conditions go untreated.
Her youngest son is also medically needy, he has Hashimoto's Disease,
Vitiligo, and ADHD.  Stacy can't even see a doctor right now, or take
her children to see one.  She has been without a car for more than a
year.  She will do things such as not eating so that her kids have an extra
night of dinner.  With her health she is slowly killing herself,
even if for the right reasons.  She can't even get any type of state
aid because she has no ride to get to the offices to apply.

Stacy would be a very worthy recipient.  Even with everything she is
currently going through, she is still the first to say "If I can help at
all, please let me know".  She is constantly giving of herself, and I
think it's a shame that with all she does for everyone else in her life
that when she really needs the help she can't find any.

Cocoa,

My daughter is a single mother of three. Right now I have custody of
them. I am on disability and only get so much money a month. She is
trying to get them back, but transportation is a problem. She needs a car
to get a job ,but she needs a job to get a car. I live in Rockledge Fl.,
and she lives in Cocoa Fl., so she don't get to spend much time with
her kids. She is trying to get a place for them but needs a good job and
transportation to do that.
We only have one car and that is mine, I need that for my
grandchildren in case there is an emergency. My daughter loves her children. The
little bit of time they can spend together isn't enough for my
grandchildren or her! We have buses but they don't run at night. Most of the
jobs she gets are late nights.
Please help my daughter she really needs to get her kids back.
Thank you so much for your time on reading this.  Phyllis

Miami,

Hello,
I am Keith **** the youngest of the four children that my mother
who I am submitting has raised. She has been without transportation all
her life as I recall my mother has never owned a vehicle. She did alot
for my sisters and my brother and me growing up. I think she really
deserves a vehicle. Everything was o.k. when all of us were living under
the same household but now we are all moved out the house and my mother
has trouble getting around. My brother and sisters are always working
and my mother has doctor's appointments she has to go to and that kind
of saddens me because, its hard for her to get around ever since she had
that life threatening surgery. I used to drive her around a lot but, I
have joined the Navy and I am far away from home, and she e-mails me and
lets me know time after time she wish I was home so I can take care of
her. She have surgery because her appendix burst inside of her and she
doesn't have the energy like she used to. It's already hard for he
r to walk let alone walk to a bus stop. She doesn't need a big car
actually I prefer her to have something small because a little car would
be easier for her to drive.

Delray Beach,

Dear Cars,
I am writing this letter about my sister. She is the mother of
three kids, 4 months, 18 months, and 5 years. Her youngest was diagnosed
with chronic asthma and has to go to the doctor for breathing treatments
on a regular basis. She tries so hard to juggle that, work, going back
to school, and her other two kids.
She has always had a hard life, with no dad around our mother just
barely made it. My own car has broken down on me 5 times trying to help
her get to where she needs to go. She's only 21 but yet she seems so
wore down by life.
Help her get off her feet, in both ways. I know she's not
terminally ill, or on the verge of dying, and maybe she doesn't have it as bad
as some other people, but I think she deserves it because she tries
harder than any one I know, and has the heart of a family of bears. Please
just help her....

Saint Augustine,

Shalene is a single mother of 2 beautiful little girls. She has had an
incredibly rough year. She moved to St. Augustine to better her life
for herself and her children, but ended up losing the job she moved there
for. She receives no child support and cares for her children alone.
She works very hard and cannot afford a vehicle. The car she does have,
is in poor mechanical shape and needs much work to have it run
properly. This year, things have become so bad for her, she has worried herself
sick that she will not any money to buy Christmas presents for her
children and is possibly looking at losing her home because she is not
making enough money. She is really having a hard time and I believe this
would help her and her girls.

Ft Lauderdale,

My mom is a wonderful person. She has had a not so wonderful life. Her
husband committed suicide and left her with two small children, she
worked and raised us the best as she knew how. She remarried after 20 some
years and her new husband trashed her credit and basically took her for
everything she owned. She had a car from a buy here pay here lot that
broke down and she doesn't have the money to fix it or buy another
vehicle. She is an awesome person, hardworking and unfortunately had alot of
bad breaks. She is currently fighting cancer and has to ask for rides
to get to and from her doctor appointments. I live in Miami and it is
very hard for me to get up there and take her, not to mention getting
back and forth to work to keep a roof over her head.

We would be so grateful for the opportunity for some transportation for
her. Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Stephanie

Hello my name is Regina Beasley .My daughter has been wanting a car
for centuries and I haven't been able to purchase one for her due to my
financial budgeting . It's hard being a single mother with three
children . But everyday I keep pressing on and thanking the Lord for
everything he has done for me. I really hope that you would surprise my daughter
with her one an only dream that she's been wanting . Well GOD BLESS you
all .

Delray Beach,

My sister is 20 years old and has Two kids. Her son is 4 and has asthma
and has to go to special doctors for other medical reasons. These
doctors at Children's Medical Service are about 20 miles from her home. She
lives on her own with her kids and really has no help from either
father. She has lost numerous jobs due to lack of transportation and it
really makes me sad. This is a young lady that wants to be independent. She
doesn't want to be on welfare, or depend on the state she wants to work
and take care of herself and her family. Please help my sister stay
self sufficient. She wants to do it for herself.

Thank you so much,
Lawand

New Port Richey,

I dont like asking for help but I am at my wits end. I have 3 children
ages 10 months, 6 years and 8 years. 2 years ago my husband and two
older children were in a car accident with the only vehicle that we owned
they were hit by a 2 1/2 ton box truck at a red light. We have been
struggling ever since. My husband was doing construction and now he is not
able to do that type of work he still does handy man work but it barely
pays the bills. I am home with 3 children with no vehicle. My son was
recently diagnosed with ADHD he is suppose to go to appointments 2 times
a week for speech therapy as well as starting Occupational therapy and
also go to his counseling. I have to beg and pleed for people to take
me to the appointments. I am not able to go back to work at this time
due to a medical condition due to Stress anxiety. My daughter's leg was
broken in the car accident just above the ankle I had to get a wagon to
be able to give her a ride to the bus stop in the mornings and h
ome in the afternoons she can't walk the distance with out her leg
hurting. I am not sure if you can even help me I would be happy with any
thing as long as it drove down the road and would get me to the
appointments and up to the school. I dont know who else to turn to.
Thank you for listening.

Sincerely, Amber

Orlando,

Please help Ms. Bailey obtain a car, she lost her car to a head on
collision with a drunk driver. The car was stolen so although the man did
jail time, there was no insurance for her. She has small children and
lives in a rural area, so she can often be seen walking on the side of
the highway with her groceries etc. There are no buses where she lives
and no living family to help her. She is a very hard worker and walks
back and forth every day even in the rain. After her car was hit, her
oldest son was killed at his first day at a new job (he was 19). I really
feel as though she thinks no-one cares about her, and a car would help
her tremendously and bring back her faith in mankind. She could get back
and forth to work, get groceries, and take her children to the park
that they have never been to. If you need documentation of the car being
totaled due to the drunk driver or her son being killed I will provide.
Also she was attending Valencia and working and raising her children
all on her own with an honor roll status until she had to stop due
to no transportation. Sincerely, Andrew
