Phoenix has been fighting to get off the poverty train for quite
sometime. she is on ssi but her condition has improved and she is
working on getting back in the work force. She is currently studying cinema
production in college. A car is a must in that field and public
transportation won't do. A car seems a bit much to purchase on her own and
would make grocery shopping easier too. very tough to do on the bus
especially when it's 100 degrees outside. please provide her with a vehicle so
she can work in her field.

Hi my name is Carol and I'm writing on behalf of my family. We are an
extremely low income family that is on their way out of the low poverty
level. My husband just got a job with a company called Exceed and
because of his position he has to have a car. He has been working since last
Thursday and today they found out he does not have a car. So they were
going to fire him but they decided to suspend him until Tuesday next
week to try to get a car. We have no money to go and buy a car, so I am
writing your agency to see if there is anything you can do for us. This
car would allow my husband to do his job and it would give me the
opprotunity to get my children to the doctor and the dentist. My 5 year old
has two teeth that have to be pulled but I have no way to get her to
the dentist, and my 1 year old is behind on his shots because I have no
way to get him to his doctor. If my husband loses his job will be
homeless because he will not be able to pay our rent and other bills. My
13 year old Daughter has been lying to her friends because she is
ashamed that we do not have a car and she does not want her friends to
feel sorry for her or to tease her. Please help my husband not to lose his
job.

This car would be for my sister who has 4 kids and has been a victim
of domestic abuse . They came here from Chicago with nothing but 1 bag of
clothes . They stayed in a women's shelter and now are temperately at my
moms . I run a day care and the children come here when I can pick them
up but soon with my kids going to school I won't be able to do this .
My mom has no car either . My sister is attending heald college and
trying to make a life for herself and kids . This car would help her to be
able to get her kids to daycare , get to store for shopping since 2 of
the 4 are under 2 . The address provided is mine since we still have a
restraining order against her ex and I don't want to give address w/o her
permission . This would be a blessing to her and to me since I can't
afford to help her do to the $$$factor

Sacramento

I would like to tell you about my friend Reyna ########## and why she
deserves to get a free car from you.

Reyna had a rough life.  She has been through some bad relationships.
She has mostly worked on low paying part-time jobs and has never had
much money.  She kept on going and finally at age 60 got her first career
job for the state of California in Sacramento.
Most people are thinking of retiring at age 60.

In May she was forced to move from her apartment. It was a terrible
strain for her to move.  She had no friends or relatives to help her with
the move.  One night after a strenuous day of moving she had really bad
chest pains with pain radiating down the arm, which I’ve been told is
the symptom of a heart attack.  Also a number of years ago she was badly
burned from a car radiator.  In spite of many challenges, she keeps on
going.

About a month ago her car was stolen.   She does not have the money to
buy another car. Her new place is expensive and costs ½ of her income.
Plus she has very high utilities to pay on top of the rent.  Therefore,
MORE than half of her income goes toward basic expenses.  She supports
3 cats who are like children to her. She has had to leave the
air-conditioning on during the day because it has been an extremely hot
summer of
110-115 degrees and she doesn’t want her cats to die from such
suffocating heat. She spent most of her savings on moving and a very large
deposit.  She does not even have the money to get a phone.

The other day she was out of cat food and could not feed her cats,
because she could not get to the pet store.  She tried to go out the other
day to walk to get some stuff and almost fainted from heat exhaustion.
She wants foster a child or foreign student, but needs a car to do so.
She manages to get to work on bus, but has to leave an hour earlier.
She needs a car to get groceries, cat food, pay bills, get to the job
center to look for a better job, and the many other things she needs to
do.

She has no friends or relatives in the area that help her get around or
help her to get another car.  Her only living relative is her sister
who lives in New Jersey and she does not have any money to help her get a
car.  I help her when I can, but I live 3 to 4 hours away in the San
Jose, CA area.  Could you please help her get a car?  I worry about her
not being able to get the things she needs to support her self and her 3
cats. She does not know how to drive a stick shift so an automatic
would be best.

Santa Rosa

Trish needs a car so she can gain her independence and her self worth
back.  The streets are harsh (hot & cold, bumpy and dirty etc)  She
suffers from all kinds of allergies and is miserable without a car.  She is
growing more weary daily.
The UV rays & skin related problems are dangerous.
A car is independence and she would then be able to get her life back.
Summer has been really hot and winter will be too much for her without
a vehicle. She is a good person.
Please help her.

San Jose

I am applying for a car because I am disabled, low income and homeless.
I live in San Jose California and I have been living here for the past
two years.  I am originally form Oxnard California however I left
because I got a divorce 4 years ago and I could no longer live in the same
town my ex-wife lived, because of the memories.  I have been disabled
since February 01, 2001 and I have not worked since then I have been on
Social Security Disability for my income.  Because I am on SSDI my
income is very low.  I barely can afford my rent and food for the month but
I am grateful for being able to do that.  I currently live in a
transitional housing program called EHC-Life Builders.  This is a program that
helps in finding permanent housing for the disabled and low income.  I
have been living for about one year and I get an evaluation every 90
days and I can stay here up to 2 yeas if I meet all the criteria to stay
here.  Some of the criteria is to be actively searching for a per
nament housing and try to become a productive member of society by
finding employment and if disabled volunteer or get some type of
vocational training if applicable.  I am luck I get to go to college and achieve
my life long dream and get a college education.  because of my
disability I am going to have to have major surgery on 21st of August for my
chronic low back illness.  Anyway, as you can see life is in session and
I am asking for a car because I can not afford one and I also have one
son who has not see his father in 3 years and with a car I can start to
see him regularly and be the father I want to be.  Thank you for
letting me tell you a little about myself and I hope and pray that I can be
one of the individuals that receives car to make life a little easier.

Annette is disabled - along with her kids.  She is living in a
shelter - thru shelter networks.
She go 3 kids.  She is on a fixed income.

This car could change her life - because she can't get around - it will
help with taking her kids to the doctors - grocery shopping - and
taking the kids places.  This is also tuff on Annette - because her kids are
disabled.  Please help make a difference in Annette's life.  She wants
to experience life - and not having transportation limits this.

Thanks you,

Over the last 10 years, Kathleen has donated 4 vehicles from deaths of
her parents and a divorce.  In 2001 is when she had her last dependable
vehicle.  She hit a tree at 50 miles an hour and this has left her
disabled.  She needs a car to get to doctor's appointments and to her
volunteer job at the local hospital, go to church and attend church
functions.

A car would change her life drastically because she would have her self
despect and dignity back without  having to rely on others and ride the
bus which is murder on her back.  The money she spends on other
people's gas could go towards her own gas and insurance and she could become
more involved with volunteer activities and church functions.  She says
if she gets a car she will help others get to their appointments and
necessary things like shopping
and other errans.

Please consider Kathleen for your program it would make her so much
more happier because she is down a lot having to stare at the four walls
in her apartment.

Thank you,

Hi,
I am a disabled, single mom of 5 beautiful children.
About a year ago I was a victim of domestic violence, I was tackled by
my ex and had 2 more disc blown out; I already had 12 disc out and
suffered from failed back surgery, and cough a staff infection after my
back surgery, which caused me to get a brain lesion from the high fever,
and now suffer from chronic Pain everyday. I and had to relocate to
another part of town. Victim Witness paid for our relocation so I have to
drive my kids to school over 50 miles a day; it would not be so bad if
I had a dependable used mini van. My 1994 Grand LE Plymouth Voyager,
blew a head gasket. I am on SSI, and Aid to familys, my ex has not paid
any support since Nov of 2005.
Please help my family and I by donateting a dependable used car. I have
the restraing order to prove my story.
Thank very much, Annette

to whom it may concern my name is Raquel im an 18 year old
student attending culinary school
and i saw that you guys can make  possible for a less fortunate person
to have their own vehicle well i know this couple and they have been
together for 4 years going on 5 in 2 weeks there hardworkers and cant
afford a car and wont be able to since they make minimum wage they barely
have for the rent and they live on a 300 dollar budget a month
Victoria was fired from work 2 weeks ago making frank the only one to provide
money for both of them its really hard for Victoria to get another job
since she has no car to travel and did not graduate high school and to
top it she has health issues and sometimes cant make it to the doctor
they are very humble and are one of the nicest couples ive met. I think
they deserve a car more than anything they would take a car for 200's
they just want to get around town
they often call me and I take them grocery shopping when i get out of
class I also take frank to work when I can he's been walking to work for
the past 2 years and now walks alone since Victoria got fired they've
been longing to get married but cant afford the wedding either

I need a car to help me get to the stores, and do other errands.  I do
not have the money to just go and buy a car, so I am hoping that you
can provide a car for my usage.  Would gratefully appreciate it.
Thank you.

Ramona

I am a transitioning single mother of two beautiful girls, Nova 3 1/2 &
Lyra 1 1/2.  I've been a stay at home mom for the past three years,
living in California, then New Mexico and now California again.  When
things didn't work out between my alcoholic partner and I, he brought me
and the girls back to San diego to my dad's house(which is falling apart
& probably not too safe for the girls)and kept the truck that he bought
for me.  He is unemployed & unable or unwilling to help out for the
time being.  My father is disabled and lives off a very modest income.  I
live in a relatively small town in San Diego county-the bus service is
very limited-our Doctor is about an hour away, decent jobs outside of
the town are at least 15 miles away. I can make decent money at work if
I can get out of this town to do so.  I know welfare can help with
money and food, but I know I wouldn't need to use that already burdened
system if I had a reliable vehicle to support my little family.  A f
riend in Oregon knew someone who wanted to donate a Subaru wagon to
me, but I don't have the funds to retrieve it(or probably register it
here-CA's expensive in that department).  I have faith the creator will
see our needs met, whether that means finding a car or not.  Blessings!!!

Hi,
I am writing this about my Mom and Step dad. They have been married 20
yrs and have always helped everyone they know.
1 1/2 yrs ago Mike was told he had a brain tumor that was
inoperable. Since then his health has gone down quickly. They had a good car it
was stolen.
My Mom is really distressed because Mike has been in intensive
care 4 times in less then a yr and she had no way of going to see him.
Half the time she can't get him to his doctors apptments and
from all the stress she is now having heart problems.
If they were to get a car it would help so much for them both to
get the medical help they need.
I would give anything to help but I am in school and have 5
children. They are both on SSI and can't afford to buy a car.
                           Thank You very much
I really hope you find they meet your criteria for a car.
                  Once again Thank You
                  Damien

I've been Cindy's friend for the last 15yrs. I've seen her go thru so
many hardships especially in the last two yrs. One of her hardships is
being able to afford her a car that is already paid for. She's always
stuck at home, and whenever she needs to go to the grocery store, appts.
anything people always seem to let her down. Even to go pay her rent!
She doesn't even ask anybody anymore for a ride. She wants to be able to
go find a decent paying job in order to save money to purchase a car, she
has her drivers license? She was going to College to earn her AA but
after 1yr. and a half she no longer could afford the bus fair especially
since her school was out of town. She's only receiving $350.00 a month
on Welfare, but wants to be able to be reliable to her employer in
order to go to work. This girl has big dreams and goals, I try to help her
as much as possible. She's raising her daughter by herself, I don't
know how she does it. She doesn't give up though! I've seen her help
out so many people and ask for nothing in return. The only thing she
does ask , is someday that person be willingly to help someone else whom
might be in need. I hope you can help her. I know in my heart that she
would not only be shocked but she'd know she was blessed! And if one
day she becomes successful, she would definitely give back to society.
That's just who she is. Thank you.

San Diego,

I first met Joanne walking past my house on her way to purchase a
vehicle. I offered to hold her bags. I can see she was tired from walking.
Three days later, she's out of 260.00, the car was a lemon, she was in
bad shape. I offered her a shower and dinner. She told me she collects
S.S.i.. Left her abusive husband in Georgia. She claims she wants to get
off of S.S.I and get a job. She seems clear headed. I would help her if
I could. My heart goes out to her because she doesn't belong on the
streets.. A van would give her, or auto, transpertion, off the streets,
away for her to seek training for a job. She has told me all the things
she has done for people. God knows what she needs. I do hope God moves
through Santa Claus.. God bless and thank you..

Hayward,

just started working for Target in Newark and have a 11 month old son
which I am trying to get in to daycare so I can save my money and get
my own apartment and provide for my family.  And a couple weeks after
starting I bought a car from the auction which was working inside the
auction but once they brought it out to me it would not start.  It ended
up being stuck out in Oakland for about 2 weeks and then I had to have
my Uncle come out from San Jose just to get it moved for me.  I spent
$425 dollars on this car plus some more money trying to get it fixed and
yet it still isn't working. So now I am stressed because I don't know
what to do I am stuck trying to find someone who is giving away a car
but I have no luck.  I ask of you to please take into some consideration
for me and my family so I can move towards higher goals I have for
myself as well as my family.  Thank You Very Much.

Fairfield,

Hello -- I am submitting for myself, because I feel that my situation
puts my daughter and myself in great need of a vehicle.

I'm currently 19 years old and my daughter is 19 months old. I'm a
single parent, homeless, and a student. At the moment I am finishing high
school and attending local community college. I am not employed, but I
do receive welfare/CalWorks.

My daughter and I live off of $555 a month and we currently stay "place
to place." A vehicle would help us out very much due to the fact that
our only transportation is by foot. I do grocery shopping, appointments,
school, etc. by foot. It is hard to transport everything I would need
for my daughters care when walking.

I have missed out on many employment opportunities and full-time school
due to not having transportation. During this upcoming winter season
walking by foot will not be an option for my daughter and I in the rainy
weather.

Long beach,

Hello My name is Cassandra my husband and I work full time for a
non-profit organization that targets the inner-city population of Los
Angeles.   My husband is a full-time volunteer at this organization  and I am
only paid a small part-time salary. Our car recently gave up it last
leg and it was going to be over 6,000 dollars to fix it, we decided that
it was not worth it and we donated it to a rescue mission where the
people staying there can fix what ever is wrong with it and sell it for
financial help.  Lately it has been getting harder and harder to make it
to work. The time from our home to work  is about a 2 hour bus ride each
way. We have to ride the bus 4-6 hours a day depending on what my needs
at work are.  If we had a car it would make life much easier.  We would
be able to use our new car to further help out the community by giving
them rides to church, doctor appointment and much more. My husband
works  in the medical field  and I work with the children in the com
munity and it is very hard for me to bring 4 or 5 children on the bus
with me all by my self everytime I need or want to take them somewhere.
WE greatly appreciate you time and thoughtful consideration on this
matter.  A new car would mean so much to us and those we help in the
community.

San Jose,

My boyfriend and I are both disabled and receive ssi. the only
difference is that he is wheelchair bound and I am not. he has a very rare
disease call ataxiatelengictasia. he should have been dead by the age of
13, but god has been with him and he will be 28 this November. not only
that, but we are now expecting a child. something else that he was not
supposed to be able to do.
we are in desperate need of some sort of transportation. preferably a
van with a lift, so that when our baby is born we can go places and i
don't have to worry about pushing both him and the baby around, he could
just bring his electric wheelchair.
being on a limited income we are already behind with some of our bills
and that's bad enough. not having any transportation is worse. we both
have a ton of doctor's appointments, not too mention it's very hard
trying to get somebody who is willing to take me grocery shopping once a
month. for although the grocery store itself is only about 15 minutes
walking distance from our house, I can assure you that it's not easy
trying to pull a cart full of groceries with somebody in a wheelchair
hanging onto the back of it, all the way home. and now that we're pregnant I
don't even want to attempt it, it's frustrating enough as it is.
we would appreciate any help you could give us with our situation. it's
really been difficult, and like i mentioned, now we have a baby on the
way. my boyfriend is an angel, and he didn't deserve the disability he
has lived with all his life, and another way this would help him out
too, would be that I would be able to take him out of the house alot
more. it's hard enough never having any money, but I feel worse thinking
about how he's spends most of his life sitting around in the house never
being able to get out and just even go to the park. It's not fair, and
I just want him to be happy with the life he does have.
thank you so very much.

San Jose,

Laura is my sister and I have watched her struggle to get to school and
to take her child to medical appointments. She is a single mother
trying to do several things at once such as: finishing school, taking care
of her one year old, and finding a part-time job. She is a very hard
working woman and the money she saves goes towards her son. She is a
self-less woman, with a very kind heart.

What prompted me to write this was something that happened just this
past week-end where she wanted to purchase some clothes for her son
Christian and my mom and I went along to give her a ride and she seemed very
frustrated and embarrassed for having to "bother us" with things like
this. She looked out the window to the side and it hurt me to see her
like this.

I believe that having a vehicle would allow her the peace of mind that
a person in her position needs. She would be more in control of her
situations and there would be no need for her to think that she 'bothers'
any of us anymore.

Pittsburg,

I know of a wonderful lady. Her name is Sharon ########. she is the
caregiver of my elderly mother. I recently lost my father to Alzheimer's
disease. My mother lives alone in her home. She is on several different
prescriptions. She is recovering from Breast Cancer, and has recently
been diagnosed with Alzheimer's herself. Sharon has been more that a
caregiver, but a good friend. She sits with my mother, has coffee, and
listens to her stories (sometimes over and over again). My mother considers
her a best friend. Sharon adopted her grandson who is a down syndrome
child. He demands much of her attention. She cares for my mom while her
grandson is at school. Her care is priceless. Unfortunately, her car
has let her down. Personally, I have replaced the tires, the battery, and
many other parts. This car keeps letting us down. Taking a cab is out
of the question ($25, one way) Anything you can do to help would be
greatly appreciated.

Antioch,

Well I guess i should probably feel silly submitting a request for
myself and my children.  But when you are desperate sometimes pride takes a
back seat.  My name is Gina.  I am the mother of two beautiful
children.  I wish I had an amazing story, but unfortunatly mine is one
that you have probably heard time and time again. We fall in love with
our high school sweethearts, we have children, then we find ourselves
alone and fighting with all of our might to provide for the children by
ourselves.  We are completly on our own, and unfortunatly have turned to
public assistance for financial help.  We currently have a 1989 Dodge
caravan that is on its last legs.  I absolutly have to put my kids in
that car to drive them anywhere.  I fear one day that that machine may
just bust into flames and burn into the pile of ashes that it was
probably intended to be.  Until recently I drove carpool in this car.  I
finally realized that i should not be putting others children in that t
rap.  I would love to be concidered for one of your cars for
christmas.  My children are always laughing and saying we should apply to have
our ride pimped, hehe.  But all the bubbles shooting from the tailpipe
wont help our ride.  Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely, Gina

Redding,I am writing on behalf of myself.  I am a 41 year old single woman in
pursuit of a college education.  I recently lost my vehicle due to
voluntary repossession because I just could not afford the large payment
along with insurance on a small disability income of 700.00 a month.

I need the transportation so that I can continue my education, and for
everyday reasons such as doctors appointments, groceries, and school.

I no it will take nothing short of a miracle to receive help in my area
(Redding, California) but I believe that God knows my need and will
come through for me.  I will continue to pray daily for some help in this
area.  Nothing is too big for my God to handle and I believe God
answers prayer and will answer my prayer because he knows my need and he
knows my heart and the rough time I have had.

I thank you first of all in advance, and praise be to Jesus for the
great work that you are doing to help others.  Even if I am not a
recipient, Praise the Lord that someone else in desperate need may receive a
vehicle this Christmas.

As well please let me know how I can start something like this in my
area and help others like myself who are in need of transportation.

God Bless you and thank you for allowing me to apply online.

Sincerely,
Paula

Sacramento,

THIS YOUNG LADY PATRICIA ******* IS DEFINITELY A UNIQUE INDIVIDUAL
THAT IS LOVED BY EVERYONE THAT SHE MEETS. HOWEVER SHE AND HER FAMILY HAVE
BEEN STRUGGLING TO FIND THE MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION FOR HER. SHE HAS
TRIED TO ACQUIRE MANY JOBS BUT HAS LOST THEM DUE TO LACK OF
TRANSPORTATION. FOR EXAMPLE SHE LANDED A JOB WITH A GREAT BANK BY THE NAME OF
CITIBANK. UNFORTUNATELY  THE TRAINING WAS LOCATED IN WEST SACRAMENTO. AS A
RESULT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO MAKE THIS TRAINING SESSION, WITHIN A WEEK
PATRICIA WAS TERMINATED AND SHE IS UNABLE TO SUPPORT HERSELF THROUGH SCHOOL
AND HELP HER PARENTS WITH THE HOUSEHOLD BILLS SUPPORTING HER FOUR
YOUNGER BROTHERS AND SISTERS. I FOR ONE AM REALLY FASCINATED AND ENCOURAGED
BY THIS YOUNG LADY BECAUSE DESPITE THE HARDSHIPS AND ROAD BLOCKS SHE HAS
NEVER GIVEN UP. WHETHER IT IS FOR ANOTHER INTERVIEW, GOING TO THE
GROCERY STORE FOR HER MOTHER OR PAYING THE BILLS SHE FINDS A WAY TO GET
THERE. EVEN THOUGH IT IS VERY DANGEROUS SHE CATCHES THE LIGHT RAIL AND
THE BUS TO TAKE CARE OF THE FAMILY BUSINESS IN SUNSHINE AND IN RAIN.
THAT IS WHY I TRULY BELIEVE THAT SHE DESERVES SOME SUNSHINE. A CHANCE
TO GIVE HER LEGS A BREAK. THIS YOUNG LADY IS A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR MANY
YOUNG WOMEN AROUND THE WORLD BECAUSE SHE STILL FINDS THE TIME AND
STRENGTH TO BE ACTIVE IN HER CHURCH DIRECTING THE CHOIR, TEACHING SUNDAY
SCHOOL, CHILDREN'S CHURCH TEACHER, AND THE PROGRAM ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR
FOR HER CHURCH. THEREFORE I BELIEVE NO MATTER THE PACKAGE OF THE CAR
PATRICIA WILL BE VERY GREATFUL AND THANKFUL FOR ANYTHING BECAUSE SHE IS
SWEET AT HEART AND SHE WILL USE IT TO CONTINUE TO HELP OTHERS AS WELL AS
HERSELF.SHE WILL BE ABLE TO FOLLOW HER DREAMS OF BEING ABLE TO BECOME A
LAWYER AND GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY.

Barstow,

Hello, I'm writing because my girlfriend has graduated from college and
has never had a car of her own. She had to move back with her parents,
where there are no jobs for what she studied. She would like to start
working somewhere, where she can gain experience and get a start on her
goals and dreams of working in the entertainment industry. Her family
doesn't have the funds to help her, so she's pretty much stuck and has
to put her dreams on hold. Our relationship is long distance and I
hardly see her. I really miss her and I would do anything to help her persue
her dreams. Please help her out. Thank you.

I,am disabled and need a car for doctor visits and
getting food at the supermarkets. I only get social
security but you can have a car. One problem is how
to pay for insurance. I could afford the gas, but
repairs would be real tough. MY disability is a
chemical imbalance, but I,ve driving, my moms car for
8 years ,and have only one parking ticket. My mom is
moving to a new APT., and I will have to foot it so
to speak, I will use it for different things also
like going to social events etc. I, am 46 and it gets
a little tough to walk. I know I might be a little
down on the list. But I live basically in Sacramento.
And maybe your team could pull out a miracle.
        Thank You Gregory ****

It isn't very often that we meet beautiful people that remain positive
in the face of life changing obstacles and economic disappointments.
Ericka ******* is a 21 year old student who resides in the Housing
Projects located in the Watts community. She is a young woman striving to
defy the odds. After dropping out of school to care for her sick mother
two years ago she finally reenrolled this Summer at South West college as
an Administrative Justice Major and is doing quite well in her studies.
She also volunteers with the Kenyon Juvenile Justice Center helping
families of those who cannot afford legal assistance prepare their cases.
Due to the recent MTA strike Ms. ****** has been unable to attend
class, grocery shop for her family, or retain any type of stable
employment. Things that we often take for granted like the ability to get to the
doctors office for a check up or the ability to get to work without
worrying where your next ride will come from, has constantly been
the factor that threatens this talented young lady's ability to be
successful. What ever assistance this wonderful program can provide in
helping better the life of this young lady would be greatly appreciated.
I know that of the many letters received daily from those in need it is
hard to choose those that will benefit the most. It is my sincere hope
that this letter will touch your hearts and impact your lives the way
this beautiful spirit has touched me.

see that she stops helping the children. he knows that she can't afford
to by another one because of her income. he physically abuses her anyway
to stop her. but she never does Yvonne will ride the bus or do what
ever she has to in order to get the wigs to the hospitals. what's even
better is that she does not let the hospital know who is doing this for the

He is a struggling student who's has recently lost his job and had his
car stolen in the same week.  By the will of GOD he has been searching
for a job in order to get back on his feet and buy a new car.

His job search has been rough.  He hopefully will know if he starts a
new job in the next week.  However, he does not have proper
transportation to get him there.  It would be about 35+ miles to get to work and
the weather has become very cold.

Hopefully you can help out.

Thanks.

My mom, my family and I have lived at this apartment for a year now.
How we got there is a long story. Things went wrong and we lost
everything. From our house, to our only source of transportation. Then we turned
to the system for help, but they were not giving any. Then my mother
had to stay in the hospital for a while. She had suffered from a
stroke. It was stress. This enabled her to work. We have been living off of a
fixed income for a while now. Things have been hard because I am a part
time student and my younger sister goes to high school. My older sister
works full time but still we have no extra money to buy a car. I take
the bus to school, but it takes three hours to get there and three hours
to get back. That's six hours total. My younger sister gets
transportation from a friends mom. that gets stressful because we must pay this
lady to drive my sister to school but my sister doesn't have a way back
home. My family and I are in a very stressful situation. I wanted t
o get this car for my mom because I believe this situation has taken a
toll on her the most. She has had to go through so much and to top it
off, lost everything. It would bring my heart joy to see her with
something that she has needed as well as us for a long time now. A car for a
Christmas gift would be the ultimate gift for mom as well as our
family.
