I am applying for myself. I need a vehicle and in many
ways have tried
to maintain keeping or getting my own vehicle. I tried to finance one
and I always seem to get behind on my bills, so the cars gets
repossessed. I tried buying a used one with income tax money and it always work
for
a little bit and then is no good. I am a mother of three, soon to be
for if it's the Lord's willing. I am also a single mother. I feel like a
car would allow me to get to and from doctor's visits and allow me to
keep a job and attend more functions with my kids at school, because
parent involvement in their child's education is very important to me. I
know this may sound pitiful, but I am only 22 years old right now, I am
doing the very best that I can. I graduated high school and attended
some college. I also feel like a car could allow me to definitely finish
college, because I'll have a definite way home. I am very proud of my
children and how far I have come from using them to motivate me with
out them even knowing it. I have made a home for them which I admit
needs a little work, but we're getting there. I thank you for the
opportunity to at least apply for a vehicle, I hope to get help soon, but
please put the most severe cases first. Thanks p.s maybe one day I will be
able to make a donation myself as well.

I think i might have submitted to the wrong state so I am resubmitting my story. I moved to Arkansas August 2005 with my daughter and twin boys. I left an abusive husband. Six weeks later he committed suicide. I was also diagnosed with cancer and had my surgery, chemo and radiation this past summer. My children went with me five days a week to Texarkana to get my treatments. My car does not run and had to be towed where it sits at my house. I still feel i am very blessed with my beautiful children and a roof over our heads. I work two jobs but, between the two of them do not give me 40 hours. I have no family here although people have been very nice in trying to help me get where i need to go. I don't have the money to repair my car and am trying to get one in better shape. I would love to start college but, only go where i need to go when rides are offered. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

her and refuses to have anything to do with her or the baby. my husband
and i work split and double shifts and we have only one car. because she
has no transportation she is unable to get a job to support her little

can work and attend the community college here in town. she already has
all her paperwork and grants in place but won't be able to go without a
way there and home. if at all possible i would really appreciate any
and all help you could give me. she is a great daughter and has become an
exceptional mother to my little grandson who is a living doll. if you
could help her so she can attend college i know it would truly change
her life. thank you for your time and consideration.

I have been a teacher for several years. I have seven
college degrees
and am a single mother of three daughters. I am a cancer survivor with
on-going medical needs for the rest of my life. I recently had back
surgery which is a direct result of my battle with cancer and the results
of treatments during the past 15 years. I am finally being placed on
disability and am struggling while waiting for any funding to come
through for us. I do have a vehicle any longer and it would be a blessing. I
am only 42 years old and still have three beautiful daughters to raise.
Thank you for your consideration

Terry,
I read your name by reading some of the letters written to you by past
recipients...I have written before, and thought I'd do it again...All
the Stories I told you about my son are true...But our situation is much
worse than anyone I know even knows.
I am about to lose my son, and he is a good boy...
but he has lost all faith in me...
He has all his life run errands, & errands...
I had Abdominal surgery about 21/2 years ago...it was dramatic as well
as drastic...then I contracted heel spurs...& now diabetes,
multifactoral neuropathy, due to the diabetes & chronic plantar fascitis, &
emphysema...
It is sorely impossible for me to walk any more, and that is absolutely
the only way I have to get around.
we live in a very small town, and absolutely no one to help me that
doesn't want me to give up my son...
I need your help Terry, there isn't one person here that would be
willing to help me unless I let them come in and try to take over my life
and freedom...(it is the age old...'trying to keep the kids
together'...but mom..who is me is "ill"...ex-husband
wins...death trap...
I was the "Poster Girl for The United Way", in the City of St. Louis,
when I was about 3, & helped a lot of People Raise a lot of Money...
I have been trying to move from here for 3 years because it is energy
insufficient...$379.00 one month last year for electric..and I can show
you the bill...(no past due added)...I can't do that...or even get out
to look...
I have taken up making Jewelry, & trying to start an online business, I
would be glad to send you some Pictures of
that...($11.95/mo...Yahoo)...
Ben & I have Been together for 14 years.
And it's true, when I wrote that he is already starting to prepare for
College...
Please help us Terry...I Have tried everything I
know...................Sincerely,
Bryant
well , my wife's son & my stepson has glomerosclorosis of the kidneys. he lives with his dad & we have to go see him 55 miles away in bald knob ar. & when sick also stay with him at children's hospital in little rock ar. the boy's name is Casey . we also have a grandson we have not seen at all 8 mo's old . his family has no car & live in louisville ky. i am on disability & draw 568.80 per month & our transmission is out on our 92 ford explorer. even if we could just get our transmission repaired it would be an immense blessing when i applied for a loan at the transmission company to get it repaired they asked me to lie about my income so i could get the loan . i can't with a clean conscience do that. . he (casey ) has been in the hospital 5 or 6 times this year & it costs us a lot more money than we have to eat etc when at the hospital. when there we eat french frys once a day because it's the only thing we can afford. if we had a working vehicle we could get b ack on our feet because i'm pretty sure the hospital would consider hiring me as a security guard because i'm trying to get off my disability & become a wage earner again. at worst i have a friend that would probably let me work in his store. we could make a small payment if we must. we need a hand up not a hand out. please help us. this information can be verified by calling a few of the people who know me & i will provide their names & phone numbers upon ur request. also if what i say is'nt true feel free to get law enforcement involved as i'm no fraud. thanks & god bless thomas p.s. if i recieve ur help i will immediately drop any other request pending to allow others to recieve a blessing.

I am in desperate need of a vehicle because i have to walk
and sometimes
even take a taxi to get my child backwards and forward to school. It
hard to find anyone to come and get me to take me there because i stay
away from everyone my mom helps me sometimes when she can but she has
school and work herself I'm not asking for the 2006 model just anything
that can get her back and forth to school I mean she really loves school
and by her not having a way to school it causes her to miss days and
that makes her sad and I want her to go as much as possible but like i
said the transportation is the problem
Conway
Hello, I am Louise and I am disabled with
Parkinson's disease,
congestive heart failure and emphysema. I used to have a home and a
car, now I have neither. I have missed Drs, appointments because I am
unable to depend on the generosity of others to give me rides and have to
wait for me. People do not like to loan their cars, really can't hold
that against them. I would enjoy being able to have some sort of
independence and have none.
I have had to max my credit cards to buy medicine while waiting on
Medicaid to pay for them. Now Medicare pays for the medicine but I still
have credit card payments to make and I have moved around to stay with
friends here and there all over the place and I have paid my way.
I lost my home to my ex husband when I became mentally impaired for an
unexplainable reason. He called my daughter and told her I was
incapable of caring for myself. She came and saw I was impaired and she
had
me sign a quitclaim deed so the ex could sell my house and land....he
didn't sell..he is living there. I regained my mentality within a few
weeks of being with my daughter and have had no further mental problems.
I am now in hock to an atty that says he can get my property back but I
will barely be able to pay my debts and the utilities, insurance and
taxes on my home when and if I really do get it. There is no way I can
see how I could make payments on a car. My disability check is $714.00
a month. I have not mentioned what it may cost for groceries. Cannot
get food stamps while living with friends.
Having a car would mean the difference between seeing my doctors for
appointments and the need for the unscheduled needs to see the Dr. It
would allow me to be able to go buy groceries and maybe even go see my
friends.
Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Louise

My daughter has gone through many upsetting events this
past year
(including the of my granddaughter's
dad) and is currently living
with her mother-in-law. She is unable to get a job and has much trouble
getting her kids to medical appointments. Even shopping for groceries is
a hassle. All she needs is a car to find a job to help support herself
and my grandkids. I hope you consider my daughter for a car. Thank you

Bentonville,
Well... It could change my life in many ways... I am a single mother of
4. I had a wonderful job, as a beauty consultant, in Dillard's. Now,
due to circumstances out of my hands I am left without a car, losing
faith in the system, and without a hope. Now, with no income, I can't
seem to face my children. They were so proud of me and I of myself. I
know life is hard sometimes; maybe more than that, but, this seems too
much. I am always fighting to tear down this stupid wall that keeps
being put in front of me every time I chip a piece away. I am 30 years
old,
I have four very wonderful children between the ages of 2 to 11. I try
very hard not to let them know or see my anguish or struggles. Now,
with no home of my own, no job, no car, I would hate to use the
words...give up... it's just never has really been in my vocabulary; I guess
that's why I am on the internet believing there are options or hope of
something more. I am a little scared. I've always been a fighter,
but, when does it get better?
Yellville,
My 4 year old grandson has lymphoblastic leukimia. He will be cured
of
it in the next year ..but his family has to take him to Childrens
Hospital in Little Rock every month. They live 3 hours away and at this time
they do not have a car. My son-in law is trying to keep working but it
is hard with no reliable transportation.
Springdale,
Wesley was born on October 20, 1987. He was born with a server heart
problems. Three of his valves were closed and deformed. He has had 4 open
heart surgeries 3 of them was before he was 1 year old and the last one
was when he was 14. He is looking at 8 more in his life time. His dad
has one job. His dad has a hard time paying the bills and has no other
money to get Wesley a car. Wesley has a little brother and a little
sister that his dad has to by for too. Wesley was been trying to save his
money but it is hard for him to, because he helps his dad out by buying
all of his clouse for school. Wesley if anyone has put up with alot of
stuff in his life and is going to put up with alot more. Wesley has been
wanting a car for a long time and i think if he got one for christmas
it would be one that he will never forget.
Palmer, AR
I am 41
yrs. old and have worked hard for 20yrs. taking any job till I
get what I want and never getting what I want. I have never made over
7,000 a year income ever and have worked lots of overtime.
my first 10yrs. of working minimum wage was 3.10 an hour then it was
raised in the early 1990's to 5.25 an hour which after taxes is about
3.oo an hour.
I got saved 7yrs. ago in 1998 and in 2003 December, I was blessed with
a baby boy. I was homeless in Ak. during my pregnancy and 1 month after
he was born I got a 2 bedroom apt. that is subsidized. I don't drink
and have never done illegal drugs and am looking for work. In Ak. Full
Time Permanent jobs are hard to acquire even minimum wage jobs. When I
go grocery shopping it is so painful because of all the years of physical
sweat jobs that nobody wants has really taken a toll on my bones and
joints. Please consider me for a free vehicle soon. Because I live
in
Ak. my Christmas wish would get a Subaru all wheel drive vehicle no
older than a 1998 model or newer. Now I know that's asking a lot but all I
to lose is for you to say no. And it's ok if you don't choose me at
least I'll know that you're helping someone else out there!
Thank You So Much for what you are doing,
Sincerely,
Karen and Rodney
P.S.
Rodney is now 15 months old Yahooey!
Merry Christmas
