My sister Tonica is a 30 year old single mother of 3 takeyah 13, davian 5, and david 2. she has no transportation she gets up every morning and has to catch 2 buses to get her kids to school everyday. and days that they run late or the bus runs early her kids has to miss school that day because the city bus only run in that area twice a day.{once in the morning and once in the evening} .then after she drops her kids off at school she has no way home, so she has to find somewhere to be until her kids get out of school and the next bus runs. and shes been seeking employment, but havent been able to find a job that fits around the bus schedule. i feel if she had transportation she would be able to find employment and most importantly her children's attendance at school will be better. she wouldn't have to depend on people to take her grocery shopping, because there isn't a store within walking distance of her home. i just believe that things would be a whole lot easier for her. a nd if you consider her for this gift your help will be greatly appreciated. thank you tristin

As of Now. 28, 2006 my car broke down on the freeway. I was blessed to get assist from ASAP which drove me off the freeway. I'm disabled and know I can't afford to buy a car. I have two children which need to go to school. The bus doesn't run in the area where the school is located so I'm stuck hoping that someone can help me. I need a reliable car due to the fact I do not have a cell phone and being disabled and trying to walk off the the freeway brings about great difficulties if the car breakdown.

During Hurricane Katrina Robin and her daughter Amber were forced to move from their rented trailer due to other people losing their homes, etc. Also the car they had was flooded. They were given a place to stay but being a single mother wasn't able to replace her car. The person she's living with (a lady friend) had damage also, help was given to repair her many home damages. Hi I am a 42 yr old woman in disparate need of your assistance. I relocated to Alabama in May of this year(2006). I thought I had crossed my T's and dotted my I's but boy was I wrong. We ( my 16yr old daughter and my 3yr old grandson) thought that things would be fine but that was not to be. I started working because at that time I had a car but as luck would have itthe car was repo'ed and I lost my job due to no transportation. and haven"t been able to find one since due to the fact that nothing is walking distance from my home not even the grocery store this is a very rural area so you must have a car to get around I am only living off $262.00 dollars a month that is for 3 people which is unheard of. there are no buses here to get you from point a to b. I can't even get myself or the children to the doctors office. there are so many things that I am unable to do. The children and myself are all asthmatics and thank god we have not had any attacks lately. so I ask if there is s o assistance out there please help. Thank You

my mother had to quit her job of day care and foster care after 25 yrs to take care of grandma whom was paralyzed from a massive stroke and while doing this mom lost her new house cars and all her belongings and she has always done for everyone she could and has never ask for anything in return i would like to see her have a car or mini van again so she can take us places and do the things we need she has no credit now that we lost everything taking care of our grandmother thank you

My sister deserves a car because she is 21 years old, off in Alabama 
going to college. No one really helps her except for her grandparents, and 
lately they haven't been able to help that much because her grandpa had 
two small stroke and has been out of work since December 2005... our 
mom is on that stuff, she's no help, and her dad lives across seas, he 
hasn't done anything, he says he's going to buy her a car to geek her 
head up all the time, that's been since her freshman year there at Alabama 
State. I really love my sister, I'm suppose to be moving down to 
Alabama with her, because I really have no home but the church.

This happens to be a great man. He has been going through so much all of his life and now he has no more transportation. He owned two vehicles and now neither one of them work. He has a liver and a kidney problem. Soon he will end up on dialysis for his kidneys and there is no way for him to get to the dr's to get this done. Hi. I need a car because I am a college student at Faulkner University. 
I am a hardworking student, I am currently working two jobs. I am the 
youngest of six living children, and the first to attend college. One 
job is work-study on campus, but we are allowed to work a certain amount of 
hours and we get paid once a month. I am a dependent student, but last 
summer my father was diagnosed with cancer in his kidney, and the 
cancerous tumor was removed. Shortly he was diagnosed with a blood cancer. I 
thought i wasn't going to be able to come back to college because of 
finances, but thanks to a caring and former teacher here at Faulkner I 
was able to continue my college degree in business. Because my father was 
unable to work I had to take on a second job to help fund college 
tuition and personal expenses. My job is located off campus, and I have to 
catch a ride to work everyday that I have to go to work. I would like to 
start a new job that provides higher pay and learning skills, 
 but not having my own transportation I have put it off for a while. I 
am seriously in need of a car. I would have had one by now, but I am 
unable to financially. Having my own transportation would allow me to 
attend summer school and work off campus at a higher paying job. My dream 
vehicle is a Jeep Liberty, but I would settle for whatever i can get 
right now. Having this vehicle will also allow me to go home and visit my 
family more often. I only go home on  major Holidays, and I would like

I have a 7 month old son and had to quit my job because of lack of child care for infants in the area. Due to lack of funds I had to drop my insurance to liability only. One morning coming home from taking my fiance'to work we- my son and I- had a car accident which totaled our only vehicle. Luckily no one was hurt but the accident was ruled in the the other person's favor even though it was not my fault. We had the same insurance company and he had an older model car that would be cheaper to fix or reimburse. We have had some help from friends and family with getting him to work and back but we have no way to get get my son to his doctor appointments or to go to the grocery store. My fiance and I started saving for another vehicle. We cannot afford a brand new or even used vehicle with a payment. We had about $700 saved up and our house was broken into and the money was stolen. This crushed us because my fiance received a promotion at work but it is a major cut in pay s o we struggle just to get all the bills paid and we know there is no way we will be able to get a vehicle now. Please help us.

I am a single mother of 4. They are 13,8,6, and 8 months old. We are in need of transportation. A few years ago, I laid off of my job and my bills were up to my eyeballs. During that time, I had major surgery that left me with a bill over $10,000. I didn't have any insurance, and now they have a lawsuit against me. I am working, but's that's just enough to pay on my bills and daycare fee. My credit is so baaaaaad, that I can't buy a cup of ice with it. My daughter's dad died last year from a heart disease, and now that support is gone. She was denied from getting survivor's benefit, because of his work history. But, through the grace of GOD, she's still being taken care of. My other childrens' dad left me without any support at all. I filed for child support, but he still hasn't showed up for court. I am an independent 30 year old woman that doesn't look for handouts. But everytime I set out to save money, something happens where I can't do it. With GOD'S help, we have what we need as far as food, clothes and shelter. It's so hard to get around with children when you don't have liable transportation. So, if you could be a blessing to my family, it would really mean a lot to us. Please consider us as a recipient. I am a 23 year old former us navy sailor fo 5 and 1/2 years. I am a single mother to 2 children. My daughter is 3 and my premature son is now almost 2 and 1/2 months old. I am from Alabama but joined the Navy after high school. My last duty station was in Gulfport Mississippi, I got an honorable discharge in November of 2004 but decided to continue living there. When the hurricane came through my daughter and I lost everything we had in Mississippi, I had an suv and I had worked my butt off to pay for it but the brakes went out on it a few months earlier so I discontinued the insurance to save that money. Well my vehicle is gone due to the hurricane and I now live in a transitional home in Alabama not far from where I grew up. I have such high qualifications due to my Navy training and experience but I can't get a job when I have no vehicle. My son is on a heart and lung monitor that is worn 24 hours a day, he is immunodificient and can't be around people or public places rig ht now, he requires weekly doctor visits but i have no vehicle.I currently have no income due to the hurricane my unemployment checks through Mississippi stopped coming. Now I have arrangements made for childcare for both of my kids with a friend of mine from high school but I can't get a job without a car...can your organization help us? If not can you please if possible tell me of an organization that will help us? If there is one you work with could you refer me? I appreciate in advance any help you can provide us. I need a car because my mother is disabled cannot work and I have to 
take care of her.  Many times I have had to cancel her doctor 
appointments for lack of transportation.  My nephew girlfriend only let us use her 
car 3 times only she said and stopped.  My mother is receiving shots 
weekly and I can't get anyone to take time for her.  I had to leave my 
job because she was very sick.  I have found a part time job that could 
be full time if I had a car to get there.  I can't even pay my bills 
anymore because of lack of transportation.  My mother and me need help I 
hope someone will help us even if we have to pay them back for the car.  
She can not walk we use a flat board to slide her in and out of the 
car.  Car needs to be 4 door and big enough to get wheelchair in.  We are 
large people.m  A car will help me pay bills and be able to buy diapers 
and over the counter medicines and creams for my mother.  A car will 
help me to advance and keep my job.

Well I have been watching this person who is trying to make something 
of himself go down because he don't have any transportation to get to work. 
he want to go to school to be a lawyer he say  but he is trying to get 
his life right and have no one to help him. He is trying so hard and if 
he had transportation then he would be able to work and go to school. 
Plus he will be able to take better care of his self. He help everyone 
around him so it time for someone to help him. to give him a chance to get

I am writing this regarding my daughter. She is a wonderful person who just needs a hand up right now. She has a great giving heart and she recently left an abusive situation. She has a job and now lives in income based housing. The car she currently has belongs to a friend and does not even have enough seat belts to strap the kids in. She has been raising my other daughter who is almost 14 since she was 2 because I have not been a very good mother and I have been dealing with my own drug demons. But my daughter also has 3 boys and custody of her stepdaughters 2 babies. So that is a total of 6 kids in her care she does not make enough on her own to even pay a car payment and I ruined her credit during one of my low lows and she is in debtors court so she can not even get a car on her own. I am very sorry for that now and if I could help her I would but she will not talk to me very much anymore she said until I am ready to help myself she can no longer help me. So this is my s mall gesture to try and help her. She is a hard working individual and she is raising these kids but she is having a very hard time doing so alone now, it would help her greatly to have a car of her own. She lives in Leeds and works in Calera and that is a very long way I think she said about 40 miles one way. The car she has is a Mazda and is only supposed to seat 5 but she crams everyone in there and I do not know how much longer it will even run I think it has about 190,000 miles on it and she is scared she might tear it up and it is not even hers. So any help you could giveher would be wonderful she is a Angel and deserves some happiness. She is always trying to help everyone else now it is time for someone to reach out and help her. My wife's baby is due in December, we've looked and looked for a car but we cant really afford one. we dont have a way to her doctor and our baby is going to have problems with her heart.this year I lost my baby brother 17 years old. I lost my job almost three years ago. I found out about some dishonest 
practices that my boss was involved in. We were an organization that 
helps the needy. I reported this to our corporate office and was fired 
within a week. I called an attorney, but since we are an "at-will" state 
there was nothing he could do. Out of sheer desperation, I moved in 
with my fiance. I did not want to do this, but couldn't find another 
solution. I now need to leave him. I found out he has a drinking problem and 
he refuses help. He makes good money, but he spends almost all of it on 
alcohol. We live in the back office of his job on a cement floor and 
eat one meal a day. He has become very aggressive with me and is becoming 
abusive. Mostly verbal, but he is getting worse and I know it could get 
more serious. All I need is a car of my own so I can leave here. I 
would like to go to college and earn a degree so I can actually get a job. 
I've been told there are grants to help women go to school, but
  I am not finding much information. I desperately need a car so I can 
leave this hell on earth and to have transportation to school or work. I 
know I can be self-sufficient. I just need to take a step. That step 
would be to have a reliable car to get me on the road to improving my 
life. Please help if you are able. I have wanted to leave for a year. I 
believe you are probably my only hope. How can I do anything without my 
own car. My fiancé is the only one who can take me anywhere. He is not 
going to help me leave him. I don't even have enough money to take the 
bus and no one to call if I need a ride. My only chance for survival is 
for someone to have mercy on me and help me help myself. Thank you.

   I'm 11, I have a twin sister Ashley, and one brother Logan, he's 13 
and a pain!! 
  I am hoping I can help my Mom find a new car. My dad Ray ####
pasted away August 2004, with Lung Cancer, he was only 39!! My Dad fought 
the cancer for about a year. He suffered through Chemo, and Radiation, 
but could not stay with us, we MISS him... and Mom is having a hard time 
on her own. We have a 1997 T-bird, which has only 2 doors, and I and my 
brother and sister have grown alot since we got the car. Mom, was 
trying to make this past Christmas, as Best as possible.. when a Buck deer 
jumped out in front of her about 3 miles from our house. We are using 
the T-bird, being the only transportation we have available. The 
windshield is cracked, the impact of the BIG BUCK hitting the top of the hood 
of the car, caused the airbags to erupt.. which has the dashboard, in 
very bad shape... the heat is now not working.. which makes for COLD 
morning ride to school. My mom is trying to look for work... with three 
children, in school,it's VERY hard to find suitable work.
        I am not asking for anything Fancy... just depenable, WARM, in 
the winter and Bigger.. 4 door.. but, with gas so high... 6 cyclinder 
MAX.

Hello, My sister needs help with a car, or help with repairing the old one. She was in an accident on her way to take her son to school. She has had it very hard this year. Her apartment was broken into 2 months ago and robbed. Her car was broken into about 3 weeks ago, and she lost her job right after her apartment was broken into. She is 25, a single mother and is struggling to try to get Christmas for her son. She found a new job but can not miss any days from training or she will lose it. She has a heart condition,Mitral Valve Prolapse, and hypertension. She worries so much sometimes that it literally makes her sick. I try my best to help her but i have 2 children myself. If you could help my sister that would make her a little more happy. I hate to see her sad. She is really a very good person.

I am a 37 yr old divorced woman in need of a caravan or similar minivan that is equipped with power lift or ramp for a power wheel chair.(chair weighes over 200lbs by itself) I am on disabilty and ssi and draw 574 a month. My monthly expenses are 160 lot rent, trailer payment of 100, phone 68, water 35, power 100. that leaves just a little over 100 a month to buy gas and car insurance. There is no public transportation out here where i live but due to the nature of my illnesses i have to be close to family so that they can come check on me and help take care of me therefore its not feasible for me to move 30 miles away to birmingham to have access to public transportation. I have to go to docs office at least 3-4 times a month(most times more often) and without transportation i am not able to get the care i need. I have also just been diagnosied with a genetic immune dificiency disease called cvid. I also have epilepsy, asthma, chronic bronchitus, high blood pressure, gastri c reflux problems, heart palpitations, sleep apnea, hypoglycemia, allergies and bipolar with borderline personality disorder. I would like to be able to be as independent as possible and get to the doctors for my medical treatments with ease... please help if you can and if you can not, say a prayer and possibly refer me to someone who can?

This submission is for my children and myself. Though I do not like that I am having to ask for charity I feel as if this may be our only hope. I come to you in complete desperation. I am a single mother of three children whose father does bye them toys and other things. But when it comes to any kinds of support as to their housing and transportation needs he feels as if our needs are irrelevant to his. As I type this he is on vacation in Disney's world with three thousand dollars while I am here with the children for a week with no car and twenty five dollars I borrowed from my grandmother whom lives on social security. I have been with out a vehicle for over a year with no hope I can see for it to get better. Unable to work due to no transportation and our housing situation is coming to an end if I cant do something soon. I am begging you if you can to please help us soon. My son almost died about eight months back he awoke with what we all thought was his appendix ruptured . It turned out to be an intestinal disorder he was born with . The ambulance would not let me ride with them having the two other children and would not let him go alone. I had to wait for a ride by the time we reached the hospital his white blood count cells had reached 36000 normal is 9000. He had suffered for 8 hours in horrible pain and was about thirty minutes from dying. This is a request for a vehicle because it is a necessity not a privilege. hello, My name is Debbie and I have a wonderful daughter who really needs transportation for her family. They are really going through a hard time right now. Her car broke down about 4 months ago, and her husband lost his job as a result. She works from home, but it's not nearly enough to get them by. The car is old and literally falling apart. It was given to them by her aunt. It was running for about six weeks and her husband was able to find work, but in the mean time, all of their bills have fallen behind, they are being evicted and just yesterday the condenser just fell off of the car the steering column is broken too, so you have to crank it with a screwdriver. It is broken down for about the 7 th time. It also needs four tires and the tags and insurance are now expired. They still owe $450 to the power company. They have a beautiful 2 1/2 year old daughter, Anna Rose, and she is the light of all our lives. This is going to be a terrible Christmas for them if they don't get help. Hello and thank you for helping people that are truly in need. My story is about myself and my husband. Just recently I became disabled to work due to a back injury. This is the 2nd. time I have had to go on disability, I was on it four years and then my health improved and I went back to work. I worked as a hospice nurse and hurt my back lifting a patient but tried to keep working as I was our only source of real income. My husband has been on disability for several years due to a car accident and now seizures. I let to much time lapse to be able to get workers compensation, anyway to make a long story short, we draw approx. $1300.00 a month between us and after we pay for rent, utilities, meds,and food, that doesn't leave much so we had to let our car be repossessed. There is no form of public transportation in Leeds, Al. No family to help. Kinda in a spot.
